- Unirea Salt Mine - The Slănic mine, situated in Slănic, Prahova County, Romania, is an historic salt mine located 100 km north of Bucharest. Although it no longer serves extraction purposes, it welcomes visitors to experience its unique microclimate, which offers natural air-conditioning and maintains a consistent temperature and atmospheric pressure year-round. The mine consists of two levels, named Unirea and Mihai. Many visitors are drawn by the reputed healing properties attributed to the pure air. Within the mine, there are various recreational facilities, including playground equipment and ping-pong tables. Additionally, a designated area is reserved for medical patients with lung cancer to relax and recuperate.
