Incredible day exploring Yogya with Mr Alfa’s cycling, village and temple tour. - Such a wonderful day exploring Yogya with our family! We did Mr Alga’s village cycling tour with visits to Prambanan temple and Borobudur. Mr Munir was our driver and he was so helpful and made our family very comfortable. His car was clean and very comfortable. He was on time and eager to make sure we had everything we needed. His local knowledge of the Yoygya area as well as stories about each town’s crafts, history and culture made it really interesting. Mr Munir helped our family when we got to Borobudur by assisting us with tickets and getting shoes etc which made our visit much smoother. The first thing we did was a bicycle tour of Mr Alva’s village in Prambanan. The bikes were in good condition and Mr Alga ensured the sizes were correct for our children who are very tall. We cycled around the beautiful rice fields and through the village visiting a traditional cracker maker, a tofu maker, and a stingless bee apiary. Mr Alga explained each craft and helped us to learn about each tradition. We got to try making crackers and even tried stingless bee honey which was delicious. Mr Alga had water for each of us in the bike baskets and ensured the roads were safe by having a staff member ride ahead of our bikes on motorcycle. We visited a local temple and Mr Alga explained a lot about the history, mythology, and symbolism of the temple for local people. Mr Alga’s tour is a perfect example of sustainable tourism - he supports local makers and businesses which helps to maintain and celebrate traditional crafts and encourage young people to stay in their village and build a successful business whilst supporting the local economy. Prambanan and Borobudur temples are true wonders of the ancient world. Don’t miss them! It was a long day by the time we got back but we all enjoyed our time and felt very happy that we went with Mr Alga and Mr Munir. Highly recommended!!!

Great way to visit Yogyakarta in a day - My brother and I really enjoyed the whole experience. Alga was very accommodating and suggested the best way to tour around Borobudur and Prambanan temples with the bike tour in between. Our driver throughout the trip, Jack, was very hospitable and even brought us to some other temples near the area. Aside from our actual tour of Prambanan and Borobudur, the bike tour around villages was a great way to learn about some of the local industries and a peek into the daily lives of families working in the local industries. The biker tour guide ( sorry I forgot the name :( ) shared stories about the history of these local industries and how Alga Tours helps by partnering with them. Overall, this tour really made our stay in Yogyakarta very memorable. Sharing some tips: - I did some research and eventually came across Alga Tours website which includes a WhatsApp contact option. I directly talked with Alga via WhatsApp ahead of our trip and finalized the tour. I think directly talking to the tour provider (I did since it is vetted in TripAdvisor through reviews) can end up with some savings instead of booking via online platforms. Note, this might be a case to case basis so better do some research. - If you prefer to avoid the intense heat, I suggest you visit Borobudur during sunset (book the last timeslot at 15:30). - The bike tour is best done in the early morning while the sun has not fully risen yet.

Cycling tour and prambanan - We booked the cycling tour and parmabanan temple visit with the tour guide. The cycle tour through the village and rice fields was really nice and we visited many things on the way, such as nut chips making, tofu factory, bee keeper and a temple. The guide picked us up in yogja and drove us to the village and Prambanan. Punctual and friendly. These two activities are good to combine from yogja for a day out.
