Memorial House of Mother Teresa - The Mother Teresa Memorial House honors the revered Catholic saint and Nobel Peace Prize laureate in her hometown of Skopje, North Macedonia, where she lived from 1910-1928. Located on Macedonia Street in the Centar municipality, the memorial house stands on the site of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, where Mother Teresa was baptized.
Old Bazaar, Skopje - The Skopje Old Bazaar is one of the oldest and largest marketplaces in the Balkans and was once the second-largest bazaar in the world, after Istanbul’s Kapalicarsi. It has been Skopje’s trade and commerce hub since the 12th century. Over the years, the city developed around the Old Bazaar, which remains the heart of the city. The Old Bazaar is also known for its historical and cultural significance, featuring some of Skopje’s oldest buildings, including Byzantine architecture, medieval mosques and churches, interesting museums, and modern architecture.
Ohrid - After a three-and-a-half-hour journey, we reach the historic city of Ohrid, a melting pot of cultures for centuries. Founded by Illyrian and Greek tribes, Ohrid has been influenced by various empires, including the Roman, Byzantine, Bulgarian, Turkish, Serbian, Yugoslavian, and now, the Independent Republic of North Macedonia. Perched on the hills, Ohrid has stood since the rule of Bulgarian Tsar Samuil in the 10th century.
