Two thumbs up. - We (two parents and two kids (11 and 8)) had the best time on this tour with Martin. It was well organized and Martin was fun, knowledgeable and a good teacher for us first timers with crampons. We all agreed it was the highlight of our 10 days in Iceland. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

Incredible adventure that we'll never forget! - This was an amazing experience that everyone should have when they venture to Iceland. At times, mostly uphill sections, it was slightly challenging. But that was more about our level of fitness and not the experience. The tour guide was patient and considerate of everyone in the group. We learned a lot about glaciers and we loved it! The guide was great to demonstrate how to properly use crampons. We were also able to drink glacier water. On the way back, the guide even recommended a local restaurant that we stopped at later.

Amazing Guide, Highlight of trip - We took a tour yesterday with Jergus, he made sure everyone in our group felt safe (carving steps for paths that were too steep, and was there for the group at all times) , was very professional, knowledgable, and fun, and really tailored the experience to make it suitable and fun for all group members. The spots he took us to and the photos he took were so cool too! Really made this experience the highlight of our trip.

Not as expected - We didn’t end up going on this activity- despite driving 3 hours just for this booking. It’s advertised as family friendly, but the level of experience needed and the gear required are for experienced climbers. Also they do require specific attire (boots, specific type of waterproof clothing) that was not clear to us beforehand. We had to rent some of this gear and when we decided not to go on the hike (about 10 minutes after we rented gear) we were not given a refund for the gear. The guide was unfriendly and started the orientation by telling the group “I’m not turning around for you if you’re cold.” Totally makes sense to set expectations before an activity, but they should have been communicated in the advertising for this activity, rather than rudely right before the hike. We were so turned off we felt that losing the ~$300 we’d spent was a better option than doing the tour.
