Highlights
  • Park and National Palace of Pena - The National Palace of Pena is the crown jewel of the Sintra Hills. The park surrounding it, in perfect harmony with the palace’s magical aura, evokes feelings of mystery and discovery. Our eyes wander through its enchanting nooks and crannies.

The palace’s vibrant colors, epitomizing Romanticism in Portugal and the timeless legacy of Ferdinand II, the King-Artist, ignite the imagination of all who enter. The park’s endless shades of green create an idyllic setting, often shrouded in the mists characteristic of the Sintra Hills. Like a scene from a fairy tale, this place has been a dream destination for generations who have marveled at its splendor.

  • Centro Historico de Sintra - The historic center of the romantic village of Sintra is home to buildings and remnants from various periods and cultural movements. It encompasses a wide range of heritage, including palaces, castles, farms, and parks with different classifications, from municipal heritage to UNESCO World Heritage sites.
  • Quinta da Regaleira - In the 19th century, Sintra became one of the first cradles of romantic architecture in Europe. Its unique climate and lush nature attracted those who, inspired by the landscape, enhanced it with stunning architecture in a harmonious blend conducive to the contemplation of beauty and the sublime.

In this picturesque setting, on the outskirts of Sintra’s historic center, lies the Quinta da Regaleira. Designed and built in the late 1800s, it reflects the cultural, philosophical, and scientific interests of its main owner, António Augusto de Carvalho Monteiro (1848-1920), and the skill of Italian architect and scenographer Luigi Manini (1848-1936). Their combined creativity resulted in an eclectic-revivalist architectural ensemble, with a particular emphasis on Manueline, Renaissance, Medieval, and Classical styles.

  • Cabo da Roca - Cabo da Roca, or Cape Roca, is the westernmost point of the Sintra Mountain Range, mainland Portugal, continental Europe, and the Eurasian landmass. Located in the municipality of Sintra, near Azóia, in the southwest of the Lisbon district, it features a lighthouse that began operation in 1772.
  • Guincho Beach - Nestled at the base of the Sintra hills and facing the Atlantic, this magnificent beach is perfect for windsurfing and board surfing due to its large waves.
  • Cascais - Cascais is the top holiday destination along the Lisbon coastline. This charming Portuguese fishing town has evolved into a popular resort while maintaining its traditional appeal. Historically a summer retreat for Portuguese nobility, Cascais now blends its rich heritage with modern tourist expectations. The historic center’s cobbled streets are home to lavish villas, an imposing fort, fascinating museums, and lively bars and restaurants, creating a vibrant holiday atmosphere. With numerous sights and attractions, Cascais is considered one of the best day trips from Lisbon.
  • Estoril - Estoril, located in the Municipality of Cascais on the Portuguese Riviera, is renowned as a major international luxury tourist destination. Known for its luxury hotels, beaches, and Casino Estoril, the town has hosted numerous royal families and famous personalities. It also hosts notable events like the Estoril Open and the Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival. Estoril is one of the most expensive places to live in Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula, home to a significant foreign community and known for its luxury restaurants, hotels, and entertainment. Cascais consistently ranks high for its quality of living, making it one of the most livable places in Portugal.

Day trip to Sintra and Western Portugal from Lisbon. - We had a great trip with Amit! We were picked up at our hotel in the morning in a luxury car and stopped at Sintra first and the Peña Palace. We went into town to explore then went to Cabo da Roca with great views of the ocean. Afterwards we had a nice lunch at Mar do Guincho with more views of the ocean. We headed back to Lisbon with a stop on Cascais. Overall a great trip and day. We highly recommend.

Carefree day to Sintra - Amit took care of everything. Paulo drove 4 of us to Sintra, dropped us at the doors, tickets in hand, and picked us up at each destination. We stopped at a couple of places on the way home along the coast, and saw Cascais. Paulo ran through history and facts along the way. All we had to do was enjoy our time with family. So easy!
