• Marigot - Welcome to the capital of the French side, “Marigot.” Here, you can enjoy duty-free and tax-free shopping for gifts, souvenirs, alcohol, organic coconuts, and authentic Cuban cigars. Savor local cuisine and exquisite French pastries that will leave your taste buds delighted. Afterward, take a stroll and choose to hike the 100 steps to our largest fort, then visit the French museum.
• Orient Bay Beach - Beach time is the best time! Feel the powdery white sand beneath your feet as you explore this unique beach. Orient Beach is renowned for its two sections: a nude section and a clothing section. We will take you to the clothing section, but for those curious about the other side, be prepared for a surprise. The beach offers beach bars, fine restaurants with beach chairs and umbrellas. You can swim, rent jet skis, try flyboarding, parasailing, snorkeling, or any other water sport. Restrooms, changing rooms, and fresh water wash areas are available at most beach bars and restaurants.
• Orient Bay - Ready your cameras for the “Paradise View” lookout point. From this hilltop, marvel at the magnificent view of the Atlantic Ocean as it forms Orient Beach. Capture photos of St. Barths in the background and cherish this unforgettable moment.
• Border Monument - As we cross back to the Dutch side, let’s say “Goedenmiddag,” meaning good day in Dutch. We will drive slowly across the border to take pictures of the flags and the border monument while the tour guide explains the treaty date displayed there. We will then return to the cruise facility, or you can choose to be dropped off in downtown Philipsburg to continue shopping. If you didn’t find what you were looking for in Marigot, you’ll surely find it here. Downtown Philipsburg is a shopper’s paradise, with two parallel streets (Front Street and Back Street) offering a variety of fine jewelry at unbeatable prices. You can also visit the Dutch side museum, another beach parallel to the shopping area, or the Guava Berry Emporium, home of our national liqueur. Sample some flavors and see how we make our local rum. If you choose to be dropped off, you have three options to return to the ship: a regular taxi, a water taxi, or a 30-minute walk. Those wishing to return to the ship should remain on the bus, and the driver will take you back to the cruise facility where the tour began.
