Brasov and Peles Castles - Our tour guide Narcis was great! Kept our group well informed of our schedule with or without the microphone. Very clear on his directions and instructions. Would definitely recommend him for future travel/guide needs.

Inside Bucharest---Secrets From The Locals - Extended 3 days in Bucharest after a cruise, and booked a local tour agency known as TravelMaker. It turned out to be a lucky blind pick. The owner himself, Dan Penciu, arranged 3 tours for us---Inside the Parliament, world's largest building; walking and dining in Bucharest's Historic Quarter, and a day trip to Transylvania and Dracula's Castle. Dan led us on the Parliament tour, and although he's been there numerous times, seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. Sometimes it's best to stick to a local tour agency than an international one.

Great visit to two great cadtkes - Great day out. Small group who got on well during the 14 hour tour of the castles. Had plenty of time in all sites we visited. This was helped by almost all buying their admission tickets in advance giving more time inside the building. Traffic was a problem in the mountains but the views outside were spectacular.

Transylvania Tour - My husband and I really enjoyed the tour of Transylvania. The guide was excellent, however, I cannot spell his name. His explanations at both castles and Brasov were very informative and entertaining.

Worth the long day, wish they had provided snacks. - The trip was really informative and the bus was comfortable. We really enjoyed the insights on the castles and brasov from our guide. I wish they would of provided some snacks and water. It was a long day and I feel that touch would really add value for the client.

Dracula Day - Trip to Peles Castle was probably the highlight of the day although we were rushed when the minibus reached the castle and mobile phone left behind!

Very long day. - Great trip and saw a lot of the beautiful countryside. Communication was great from the agent which is why it was disappointing that that we had to wait for travellers who didn’t arrive at the correct location on time. This impacted the timings of the whole day. Additional information should be given about food and drink as you really need to ensure that you take sufficient for the whole day as there is limited chance to get on the trip and nothing offered or on the bus. As we left late the traffic back was really heavy which resulted in a 4.5 hr journey back to Bucharest making it a very long day and only stopping at a petrol station on the way back to try & get something to eat, drink & go to the toilet. Again disappointing as there were a couple of other options which would have been better. The overall day was over 14 hrs, so make sure to plan for it.

Bait and switch - My husband and I specifically chose this tour because they advertised a small group, an air-conditioned van, and pick-up/drop-off at our hotel. We made these choices (and paid a higher price) because my husband has some recent mobility issues, and these specifics would have made the excursion much better for us (and others). While we were waiting for the van in front the hotel yesterday morning, we received a (not very nice) phone call from our guide, asking if we were coming to the pick-up point. She said they were not getting us at the hotel. We put on Google maps and walked as quickly as we could to the new pick-up point, only to find out we were on a large bus, not a van, with a broken air-conditioning system. It was over 90 degrees Fahrenheit outside yesterday, and even hotter in the bus. We asked about the small group, air-conditioned van we had paid so much for, and were told that the tour operator booked more and more people on the tour, necessitating a full-sized bus. Talk about a bait and switch! This meant that at the three stops, we had to park far from our sites and walk long distances over cobblestone streets, up and down hills and staircases, to reach the entrances—then walk back again. A van would have allowed us to avoid the extra walking. We are extensive travelers (I have been to 95 countries and my husband has been to 55), and know our current limitations. My husbands leg and back only worsened as the day went on. By the time we got to the “Dracula” castle he walked gingerly and slowly over uneven streets to reach the ticket area. He was unable by that point to walk any further, so spent the entire time in a cafe, waiting. Let me add that he fell while in the cafe and injured his previously-healthy knee (three men had to help him up). That day was bad on so many levels. It was also our first day of an 18-day excursion in Romania and up the Danube to Hungary, so it is more than a little disheartening to be spending this morning looking for a knee brace for the rest of the trip. Shame on the tour operator for making these changes. We are very careful to not slow our fellow travelers down, so my hubby was a real trouper pushing himself and staying with the group. Also, our tour guide was not very informative, to add insult to injury, but she is not responsible for the deceptive choices the tour operator made in their pursuit of more revenue from the added passengers. I wouldn’t book with this company again!!!

Tour guide was not friendly - Tour guide was sarcastic, I had to beg for WC stop. He was not friendly, actually not liking his job. Hope he can find a job he likes.
