A Most Wonderful Journey in Transylvania, Romania - We don’t routinely write online reviews of our travel experiences, yet our recent journey with Covinnus Travel made us wish to share our outstanding sojourn with others. Of note, Tripadvisor requires a drop down menu tour choice, with our “Towns and Villages of Transylvania” not included on the drop down list. So please disregard the chosen “Carpathian Castles Tour” as shown above. We found Covinnus because a pre-trip offered by our Viking cruise was already filled. Watching a YouTube video of Rick Steves touring Romania guided by Covinnus clinched our decision—the “Towns and Villages of Transylvania” seemed ideal for our available six days. So our four family members engaged Daniel with Covinnus. Communication was timely, clear and congenial; the cost was very reasonable and the process for payment was secure. Once planning was complete we then looked forward to our trip. After our on-time airport pickup by associate Valentina, we stayed in a comfortable, clean, safe and well located hotel with friendly staff in the Old Town area of Bucharest. Our next days were filled with wonderful experiences in Transylvania expertly guided by knowledgeable Valentina and Daniel. We learned so much by visiting with local Romanians, dining in wonderful restaurants typical of the area, and enjoyed the many historic and cultural sites. Daniel even created then shared by email with us a drone driven aerial video set to ‘epic’ music of our small group overlooking a pastoral red-roofed village in the countryside. Simply amazing! We returned to Bucharest with Valentina arranging our visit of the Parliament which was not part of our original tour. She also drove us to our next hotel in time to begin our Viking cruise. Covinnus went above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect! We can’t say enough about our outstanding experience. Romantic Romania Revealed - Corvinnus Travel, with Daniel Gheorghita as our guide, whisked us from the tumult of Bucharest into the pastoral pleasures and histories of Empires that is the heart of Romania. From the rich agricultural and industrial plains of Wallachian prosperity our comfortable 7-day private tour revealed bucolic alpine villages, medieval church fortresses, whimsical castles and the many natural wonders of Transylvania and the Moldovan District. Daniel spoke excellent English. His polymath erudition of historic conquests, religious iconography, conflicting political convulsions, economic influences, rural traditions and current affairs was always entertaining, informative and compassionate. Traveling on narrow winding backroads through the Carpathian Mountains we were impressed by Daniel’s smooth driving skills and attention to safety. He often slowed or stopped when possible for us to take photos of anything that captured our interest… and we took thousands of photos! Each night was spent in a comfortable small hotel, local inn or guesthouse. After 20 years of guiding visitors in Romania, Daniel knows where to go for some of the finest dining, so each meal was a pleasure. He was kind, and always sensitive to our needs. Great tour - Daniel was a fantastic guide! We had a great day with Daniel seeing both Bran and Peles Castles, with a wonderful lunch in the old town of Brasov in between. We chose the private tour, giving time to ask questions along the way and it was an easy, fun day. Daniel’s great knowledge of Romanian history and interesting stories about the historic sites really enriched the tour. From booking online to being collected from and dropped back to our hotel, it couldn’t have been easier. Can’t recommend highly enough!
