Silves is renowned for its citrus production, particularly its high-quality oranges. The day starts with a visit to a local orange grove, where visitors can learn about the family’s history intertwined with the grove’s story up to the present. The journey continues to Silves, the former capital of the Algarve, where there is free time to explore the Moorish Castle, the most exquisite military monument from Portugal’s Islamic era, and the Gothic Cathedral (entry fees not included).
