- Wilpattu National Park - Located about 40km west of Anuradhapura’s new town, Wilpattu spans approximately 1,317 square kilometers, making it the largest national park in Sri Lanka. The name Wilpattu translates to “land of lakes,” with around 40 tanks and lakes within the park.
You will have the opportunity to see a variety of animals, including elephants, leopards, sloth bears, water buffaloes, and spotted deer. Additionally, the park is home to numerous bird species such as peacocks, painted storks, little cormorants, Sri Lankan jungle fowl, and many more. Capture stunning photos of the wildlife and enjoy an adventurous safari tour by jeep.
