Ravana Palace - Sigiriya rock has been known since ancient times as a settlement for Buddhist monks. It is a well-planned monastic complex that includes cave temples, bathing pools, lovely ponds, and Asia's oldest surviving landscaped gardens. Today, Sigiriya is famous for its fresco's paintings in the pocket of the rock

Worth every one of the 1,200 steps - As part of our Intrepid tour. An early morning hike up 1,200 gruelling steps at 6am to watch the sun rise was worth every cry from my knees. Stunning sight, amazing scenery. Can't believe the work it would have taken to build the Kings palace up there. Incredible.

A must visit place in Sri Lanka - Sigiri is such a cool spot to check out in Sri Lanka! It's super old and has some awesome drawings and pictures. Plus, there are ancient scripts to see. And let's not forget about the amazing water technology in Sigiri. I had a great time exploring with some wonderful company, and the guests with me were fantastic too. We had a blast discovering everything together!

A place to see absolutely, but... - Unesco World Heritage Site... a place that is definitely worth a visit if you are in fair health and suitable shoes (no slippers). The view once at the top is remarkable. There are two criticisms... too many people (admitted at the same time) and this creates a great queue and being narrow you can not climb at your pace. The price is exaggerated... $35 per person.
