“Unforgettable Memories” Second Day in Sigiriya
Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Early morning climb the Sigiriya Lion rock. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress and palace built by King Kashyapa during the reign of 473 – 495, standing majestically 660 feet straight up. It is located in the northern Matale district near the town of Dambulla in the central province of Sri Lanka. The word Sigiriya or Sinhagiri means the Lion’s Rock, where you have to climb up 1200 steps before reaching the Lion Rock Fortress on top of Sigiriya. There are several platforms that break up the steps and allow for a little break if needed. Today, Sigiriya rock fortress is one of the most famous archaeological treasures, and UNESCO named Sigiriya rock a World Heritage Site in 1982 under the name “Ancient City of Sigiriya Sri Lanka,” and a national guide can be arranged if needed.
Sigiriya Museum - Visit the museum in Sigiriya, known to be the most attractive in South Asia, managed by the Central Cultural Fund. Sigiriya Museum represents its cultural, technological, and archaeological value. Three decades of archaeological research on Sigiriya, the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, can be explored at the Sigiriya Museum.
Golden Temple of Dambulla - Visit Dambulla Golden Rock Temple, also known as the Dambulla Cave Temple, an ancient temple region situated in the central part of Sri Lanka, where numerous ancient caves, rock temples, statues, paintings, and murals are the main attractions for guests. Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage list, Dambulla Cave Temples spread over acres of land, which is still very functional and one of the best-preserved historic edifices in Sri Lanka. Located 148 kilometers east of Colombo city, this is the largest cave temple complex in the country. A national guide can be arranged to explain if needed.
Sacred City of Kandy for the Third Day
Royal Botanical Gardens - The tour driver will take you to Kandy to visit Peradeniya Botanic Gardens, a botanical garden in Peradeniya, near Kandy, Sri Lanka, noted for its rich and varied collections of tropical woody plants. Occupying 59 hectares (146 acres), it has about 4,000 species of plants. The most important specimens of the garden include palms, some of which are planted in impressive avenues. Significant, too, are the collections of orchids, gymnosperms, and flowering trees.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a world-renowned place of worship, where the left canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined. The temple, venerated by thousands of local and foreign devotees and tourists daily, was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. A national guide can be arranged if needed.
Kandy Lake Club - Cultural Dance Show - Visit The Kandy Lake Club Cultural Dance Show, a stimulating Sri Lankan Arts, Dance & Cultural Heritage Show that is a must-see for any visitor to the historic city of Kandy. The Kandy Lake Club Dance started in 1982 with the view of having a cultural dance performance bringing together all Sri Lankan dance types to one platform. It is the first Cultural Dance Show of its kind to be established in Sri Lanka. It has since become a tourist attraction for many people visiting the country and keen on a glimpse of its rich cultural heritage. Hence, it has been performing continuously for the last 35 years.

Hakgala Botanical Garden - The tour driver will take you to Nuwara Eliya to visit the Hakgala Botanical Garden. This garden of 28 hectares lies at an elevation of about 1745 meters above sea level, on several terraces upon the lower slopes of the Hakgala Rock (Elephant’s Jaw Rock), covered by the Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve in the Nuwara Eliya district. The massive Hakgala rock towers to a height of about 2200 meters behind the gardens and surrounding the forest reserve like a solitary giant. Adorned by the surrounding forest, the garden faces the Uva Valley and the mountain ranges of Madulsima and Namunukula in the distant landscape.
Lover’s Leap Falls - Visit the Lover’s Leap waterfall, a fascinating trail through the Nuwara Eliya village life with spectacular views of the surrounding area.
Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden - Visit the tea factory. It’s wonderful that the tea plantation and factory are locally owned by Sri Lankans, and having a tea tasting at the end of the tour is a special treat.

Ravana Ella Falls - Visit the Ravana Falls, named after the demon King Ravana, who according to traditional folklore, is believed to have ruled Sri Lanka. It is best visited during the local wet season when the water is said to resemble an Areca flower with withering petals.
