Additional Information

In this journey, we’ll explore three of Transylvania’s most ancient and attractive historical places.

Our trip will start with a visit to the Saxon village of Viscri, exhibiting quaint lanes and beautifully hued Saxon homes. On reaching the top of the hill, we’ll visit the fortified white church, which gives the village, Viscri, its name (translated as the White Church).

Our next stop will be Sighisoara, a city that held a significant strategic and commercial standing on the fringes of Central Europe for numerous centuries. With its old medieval homes boasting stunning architecture, and tight alleys lined with brightly painted houses, you’ll feel transported back in time to an era of princes and princesses (refer Vlad Tepes) residing in the city.

Our last destination will be the Rupea Citadel, perched on Cohalmului Hill, overseeing the city from its elevated position. Constructed and enlarged during the 14th-17th centuries as a fort and safe haven for neighboring villages, a beautiful panorama of the surrounding landscapes can be beheld from its vantage point.

Great tour! - Traian awas amazing amount of energy and knowledge. We hiked up and down fortresses, learned about all of the Saxon towns, as well as stopped by king Charles museum in Viscri...who knew! Sighisoara was a bit like a Medieval Disney atmosphere.. in a good way!

Two thumbs up - Viscri was my favorite. Very peaceful place. We had a nice trip with Dan. He provided a lot of information about the region. He also stopped other sites where we had a chance to take photos. Overall, I recommend this trip to everyone who is visiting the region.

Brilliant, knowledgeable guide (Traian). I had an amazing day! Beautiful places visited, Viscri was my favourite of all. Traian recommended an excellent place to eat lunch. Would give this more than five stars if I could.

Detailed, funny and flexible - We booked this trip because we wanted to see a lot and public transport is not so good in Transylvania. We had the pleasure of having the guide Trianon with us. He informed us about history along the road and on the sights. We really loved the detailed information, not only at the main sights but also along the way, e.g. pointing out fortified churches along the road. We had a big car for only 5 people, which was very relaxed. He also gave us options to stop for photos on the way. We could also opt in or out of experiences, for example, we tried the local Palinka, which tasted much better than other ones we tried. We were not that interested in Charles's house in Viscri so we skipped that one and had more time for the rest of the sights. Trianon was funny and flexible and also showed us good spots for photos. The sights of Rupea Citadel are very impressive with great views, Viscri fortified church is very interesting and Sighisoara is very cozy with a large amount of medieval and historical buildings. We also had plenty of time to eat lunch in Sighisoara. We can highly recommend this tour!

Great day in Transylvania - Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained all the sights. He was willing to make photo stops, washroom breaks, etc. whenever we wanted. Showed us places we wouldn't have found ourselves. Our group only had 5 people which was very pleasant.

Could not have been Better! - Traian was an excellent ambassador for Transylvania! Our tour was timed perfectly as we were just about the only visitors at each site and had the places to ourselves. It could not have been a better day! We highly recommed this tour when visiting the area.

Beautiful and rustic villages. Stunning views from the Rupea fort. - I shall forever have beautiful memories of those charming and rustic Transylvanian villages. It is a plus of course to travel in January as they are quite empty but they all had their individual charm and our guide was passionate and knowledge adding to a very successful day out with my son.
