The tour begins with a hotel pickup between 8:00 am and 8:30 am from the lobby of your centrally located hotel in Chiang Mai City. A professional tour guide will accompany you as you travel in a VIP 9-seat air-conditioned van, heading south to Inthanon National Park in the Jomthong District. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery of villages, communities, rice fields, and fruit orchards.
Upon reaching the Inthanon Mountain area, also known as The Roof of Thailand, take a moment to appreciate the beauty of Wachirathan Waterfall before ascending the mountain to visit Mae Klang Luang Village. Here, you can savor fresh coffee from the villagers’ farm and explore the village and its rice field terraces. The tour continues to the Royal Agricultural Project site, where you can stroll through the flower garden, vegetable and flower nurseries, and a pond with fishery. Lunch will be served at the Royal Project’s Restaurant, featuring fresh vegetables from the King’s Agricultural Project.
After lunch, embark on a 2.5-hour eco-walk along the Kew Mae Pan nature trail, covering approximately 3 km. Discover three different types of forests, starting with a rainforest rich in moss and ferns, followed by a semi-alpine area with a large field that changes from green to a stunning golden brown. As you continue, admire the numerous ‘Thousand-year red roses’ (Rhododendrons) along the cliff, especially between December and February. The trail also offers opportunities to spot rare bird species such as Green-tailed Sunbirds, Flycatchers, and Vivid Niltava. After the walk, enjoy snacks, drinks, and a towel provided by our staff.
Next, visit the highest summit in Thailand, standing at 2,565 meters above sea level, where the remains of a former king of Chiang Mai are enshrined. A short walk along the Angka Luang Natural Trail offers another chance to enjoy the forest above 2,000 meters. On the return journey, if time permits, visit the twin pagodas (Phra Mahathat Napha Methanidon and Phra Mahathat Naphaphon Bhumisiri), built to commemorate the fifth cycle birthdays of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, each housing Buddha’s relics. Make a brief stop at the Hmong Market, where Hmong villagers sell fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other local products.
After the tour, return to Chiang Mai, which will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions. Upon arrival, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
