Outstanding Tour of Two Lovely Historical UNESCO Temples - What a wonderful tour! Our guide, Natt, was just amazing -- a fountain of knowledge about Buddhism, the religious beliefs and customs of northern Thailand and the history of these two beautiful temples in the heart of the old city. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the beauty of the temples, learning about the art motifs used in many Buddhist temples in Thailand and hearing how the influences of Burma and and Hinduism have been woven into the religious traditions of the region. We got to place flowers on the altar at Wat Phra Singh where the 200-year old statue of the Buddha dominates the sanctuary, and at Wat Chedi Luang, we placed gold plate on the small Buddha statues representing the day of our birth along with prayers for health. The tour is a great way to learn about the religious customs of the local people in a gentle and engaging way. Natt takes so much care in explaining and answering questions. His love of the subject matter is evident to all! Well worth the money!
