Perfect for foodies who want an authentic Thai food experience - Probably the best food tour I’ve ever been on. Amazing experience for those who are serious foodies that want to try authentic Thai food at places outside the old town that you’d never know about!! Not for picky eaters, and come HUNGRY! Muay was so lovely. We had a really awesome time! I will def be recommending to my friends

A Great introduction to northern Thai food - The tour was terrific and so was our guide, Moui. We had our own ‘red bus’ to drive us from place to place and we were told about local northern (Lanna) customs and lifestyle along the way, as well as the history of Thai food evolution (eg. frying was introduced by the Chinese). The food was great, especially the khoa soi(!), and I really liked that whatever we didn’t finish at each stop was given to our driver to take home (very responsible & thoughtful!). A wonderful experience!

Fantastic gastronomic panorama of North Thailand cooking - Fantastic gastronomic panorama of North Thailand cooking. Degustation of many local dishes together with expert comments from our guide : a fun and very knowledgeable local lady. There such a plentiful array of wonderful dishes that it's better to arrive hungry and to try only a couple of mouthfuls of each, especially at the beginning. Visit to a market afterwards to buy spices and ingredients to try at home. I learned a lot about this region’s cooking, really loved it and would definitely recommend this tour.

A whirlwind of Chiang Mai street food - The food variety is good and the places were local and authentic. We would never have gone to those places or tried as many types of food without this tour, simple because we didn't know of these hidden gems. Our guide Moui kept us entertained with her storytelling of the region's history. A feast for the senses!

Superb Chiang Mai food tour - This was an amazing food tour. Moui our guide spoke excellent English and was a great source of information. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about her native Northern Thai cuisine. We went on the lunch tour. She brought us around in a local red Thai jeepney so there was minimal walking. Highly recommended.

Be prepared to be adventurous!!! - This was definitely one of the top 3 food tours that I have ever done, anywhere in the world. We were taken to so many amazing and unusual places where foodies like Mark Wien and Anthony Bourdain have gone before, that if you had to put together the knowledge and transportation to visit- it would have taken days! Come with an empty stomach and be prepared to be adventurous!

Awesome culinary and cultural experience - I did the same lunch food tour last year when I came to Chiang Mai for the lantern festival. It was so good that I came back this year and repeat the same food tour as well. We went to five different locations and tried more than 15 different kinds of food. It's hard to believe you could eat that much, even though the tour lasted four hours. Toward the end we all had difficulties to eat more, as delicious as the food was. The last stop was a big farmer's market. We even tried the crickets and the silk worms. So if you always wanted to try them and couldn't sum up the courage, now it's your chance to do it in group! The food choices are diverse, mostly northern Thai. Be careful that it could be really spicy, especially the small chili peppers. The guide was very knowledgable. She told us a lot about the history of those dishes, some were brought in by immigrants. She also answered many cultural questions. She also provided us unlimited bottled water, hand wipes and alcohol spray. The tour is carried out in a Songthaew (a red truck taxi) and the max. number of people in each tour group is eight. When I come back to Chiang Mai next time, I might do it again! In the mean time, I will find "A Chef's Tour" at my other travel destinations.

Educational and yummy - Great education on the tour in Chiang Mai. Didn’t like all the foods but that’s my issue; and some of it was awesome. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
