- Wat Ban Den - Previously known as Wat Ribunrueang, Wat Ban Den is one of the most remarkable temples in Chiang Mai and among the largest temple complexes in the province. In 1988, when a new abbot took over, the temple was in a state of disrepair. Thanks to generous donations from local residents and Buddhists nationwide, the temple underwent a complete renovation, with several impressive structures added. Although these structures are relatively new, they are crafted in a traditional architectural style. Visitors can admire the intricate details of historic Lanna religious art, a reclining Buddha, seated Buddhas, and pay respects to the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac. The beauty, tranquility, and peace of this magnificent site are sure to captivate you.
The total duration includes travel time from Chiang Mai to Wat Ban Den.
- The Mae Ngat Dam & Reservoir - Situated on the western side of Si Lanna National Park, the Mae Ngat dam and reservoir offer a serene and scenic retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. Constructed in the 1980s to provide irrigation for agriculture in the Mae Ngat basin, this peaceful haven has become a favorite among Chiang Mai locals and travelers seeking to immerse themselves in northern Thailand’s stunning nature. The lake, surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery, is a sight to behold. We will board a boat to enjoy the lake’s serene beauty from the water.
- Bua Thong Waterfalls (Nam Phu Chet Si) - Located about an hour from Chiang Mai city, the Bua Thong waterfalls, also known as the Sticky Waterfalls, are a breathtaking multi-tiered limestone formation in Si Lanna National Park, a tranquil and relaxing area with pristine forests. What sets these falls apart is the sticky rocks that are easy to climb. Fed by calcium-rich springs, the mineral deposits have accumulated over the years, creating a cascading formation that is not slippery to walk on. The rocks provide so much grip that you can easily walk up the falls. This unique waterfall is a popular spot for relaxation.
- Mae Faek Mai - We will also visit the Chedi Mae Krua Market, an authentic local market that is not a tourist attraction. It offers an intriguing glimpse into the everyday life of the people in this area. Take a stroll through the market to experience Thai life outside the city.
Afterward, it’s time to return to Chiang Mai, where you will be dropped off at the meeting point or your hotel.
