Forbidden City-The Palace Museum - Formerly known as the Imperial Palace, the Forbidden City spans over 720,000 m², with more than 9,000 buildings and a construction area of 150,000 square meters. It served as the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties and is China’s largest and most complete ancient building complex. Construction began in 1406 and was completed in 1420. Over its 500-year history, 24 emperors resided here. Despite several renovations and expansions during the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Forbidden City retains its original layout.
Temple of Heaven - The Temple of Heaven was the most significant of Beijing’s imperial temples, where Ming and Qing dynasty emperors (from 1420 to 1900) worshiped the god of heaven and prayed for good harvests.

Jade Buddha Temple - Situated in the bustling city of Shanghai, the Jade Buddha Temple was initially built in 1882 in Jiangwan on Shanghai’s southern outskirts. A 1.9-meter-high white jade Buddha was installed here after a monk brought it from Burma to Zhejiang Province in 1882.
Oriental Pearl Tower (Dongfang Mingzhu) - The Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower is an architectural landmark and a favorite tourist attraction in Shanghai. Standing at 468 meters, it is the third tallest TV and radio tower in the world. The tower features a base with three batter posts and three standing pillars containing elevators, with 11 steel structures creating a poetic conception reminiscent of “large and small pearls dropping onto a jade plate.”
Yu Garden (Yuyuan) - Yuyuan Garden is the only fully restored classical Chinese garden in Shanghai. Established during the Ming dynasty, it covers an area of 20,000 square meters. Despite occupying less than five acres, the garden masterfully combines various elements to create a miniature world, blending pavilions and corridors, small hills, carefully selected rocks, lotus ponds, bridges, winding paths, and trees and shrubs.
Nanjing Lu (Nanjing Road) - Nanjing Road, stretching 5.5 km, is renowned as China’s premier commercial center. It was Shanghai’s first commercial street after the city opened to the world. The street runs through central Shanghai, adjacent to the Huangpu River in the east, and intersects with Jing’an Temple and West Yan’an Road. Divided into east and west by Xizang Road, the street features over 360 malls, department stores, specialty shops, restaurants, and cultural and recreational facilities, attracting more than 1.5 million customers daily. During the day, the street is bustling with visitors, and at night, colorful neon lights enhance its appeal.
The Bund (Wai Tan) - The Bund is located along the Huangpu River in Shanghai’s Huangpu District, the city’s center. It is a scenic highlight of Shanghai. Across the Huangpu River, several Shanghai landmarks, including the Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Centre, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, and Jinmao Tower, are among China’s most famous buildings.
