An unforgettable evening - Ahmed and his family are absolutely wonderful. We were initially looking forward to the food but soon enjoyed the company even more. The food was amazing and the experience unforgettable. If you are looking for a cultural connection, this is it!

First Night in Egypt - It was such an amazing experience!! Ahmed and Shorouk are so kind and welcoming. Their two daughters were so sweet. The food was absolutely delicious!! The best food we tasted the entire trip and we had some very good food. Shorouk's hibiscus "welcome" drink was the best we had, so much so we bought back 1lb. to NY and got the recipe. It was a wonderful experience to cook and prepare the meal while learning about the culture and history of the foods that were eaten. Our dinner with Ahmed and Shorouk was the very first excursion we did. We arrived in the afternoon and was dining with them later that evening. We're so happy we decided to do this first. I highly recommend this excursion if you want to truly feel as one with the locals. We will be returning back to Egypt and we plan to dine again with this lovely family.

An exceptional culinary and cultural experience - This experience was extremely exceptional. The Safwat family was warm and welcoming from the moment my booking was confirmed. I appreciate Ahmed for escorting us safely to and from his home, Shorouk for showing us the music of her kitchen and how to prepare cultural dishes and both their grace and generosity with sharing space in their home, local insights, stories, unexpected gifts and delightful company, including the honor of meeting Ahmed’s sweet mother!

Great experience, you will leave full of food and friendship - So much fun! Come and experience the real Egypt and make new friends with these two lovely people. They welcomed us so warmly and generously into their home. The food was delicious and plentiful so come as hungry as you can! I took back some good knowledge on how to make an Egyptian dish but the best part was the conversation and spending time together. They are honestly the loveliest people you will meet.

Highlight of our trip - Ahmed and his family made us feel so at home in Egypt! This was by far the highlight of our trip. Ahmed went out of his way to make sure we got to them and back to our hotel safely, gave us so many pointers for the rest of our trip and gave us some fabulous Egyptian food. If there's one thing you can't skip on your trip, it's this. They also run some other tours in Cairo, be sure to ask them about that before booking with someone else.

The best part of my entire trip... - Getting to my new friend's house was easy, and really enjoyed taking a stroll through their neighborhood, away from the touristy zone in Cairo. Communication was excellent and I knew exactly what to expect. I ended up being the only visitor, as my travel companion and another couple cancelled, but Ahmed and Shorouk made me feel like family. We cooked together and shared stories and they truly made my last night in Egypt magical. We cooked Hawawshi, Molokhia and so much more. Would recommend this experience 10/10 to anyone who visits.

Do not miss this! - best experience available in Cairo - Whatever you are interested in, whether you like cooking, or eating, history or local culture this is something you should not miss. Ahmed and Shorouk are the most amazing people, they are wonderful hosts who create an evening in Cairo that will never be forgotten. This was the highlight of our trip and this is so very much more than a "cooking class" Please go and spend an evening with Ahmed and Shorouk even if you usually dislike cooking. This is just fun in the kitchen and you may be surprised. I was not expecting to enjoy the "class" but this was a very relaxed insight into some traditional Egyptian recipes that we will be able to recreate at home. Ahmed was available for any questions prior to our visit to their home. He was able to assist us in rearranging another tour and also monitored our Uber journey to ensure we arrived safely. All of this immediately made us feel as if we were visiting friends for dinner. We were met by Ahmed in a busy part of Cairo and joined him in a Tuk tuk that took us through small streets that were difficult for cars. This was the beginning of our opportunity to see the "real " Cairo. Shorouk was waiting for us at their home and Ahmed explained that this family home, on 3 levels , was also home to their children's grandmother and that the house had been built for the extended family by Ahmed's grandfather and that the street had been named after him. We were shown the way that Ahmed's family, and others in the street were able to buy provisions from the local shop a few houses along by catching the shopkeeper's attention and then lowering a bucket from the window for the shopping. Ahmed and Shorouk have 2 delightful girls who also played a part in helping us to understand Egyptian life. The younger girl was celebrating her birthday and we were privileged to share in this with cake and singing happy birthday in both English and Arabic. The meal was absolutely fantastic. We ate the dishes we had all prepared and there were some additional food that Shorouk had previously made. Everything was delicious and plentiful. We learned so much about Egyptian family life, but also Ahmed and Shorouk are both very experienced and knowledgeable tour guides. This family are unbelievably warm and friendly and have the ability to put everyone at ease and welcome them as a part of their family. This was much more than a five star experience! Thank you Ahmed and Shorouk - we hope we'll visit you again.

Wonderful way to experience more of Cairo - Such a wonderful experience, which went beyond a typical cooking class to really share a family side of Cairo that felt true, loving, and complex. From the first to last minute, we were welcomed and intrigued. The food was great and conversation stimulating; overall a great night, which is highly recommended.
