Best Ever - We had the best shore excursion ever! It started with Hirokane meeting us on the dock, with his yellow jacket, just like he said. Our tour was scheduled for 9am, but, we got off the ship at 8:30. No problem, Hirokane introduced us to our guide Kyla and our driver Ted, and off we went. It was great to leave early, as we were ahead of the bus groups. Our guide Kyla was very knowledgeable, insightful, and, perhaps most important, she was fun. Our driver Ted was more like a co-guide. He knew the area well and its history. He was also a very nice man, the type of guy you want to hug. We had a full day trying to see Mt. Fuji.(to no avail). The day, however, was the best of our 3weeks in Japan. The beautiful Temple, the pines, and a stop to see how tea grows, etc.. Even between stops Kyla keep us going. She taught us several things and we learned how to count in Japanese. Perhaps the best of the day was when Kyla did a little comedy routine that she is working on, it was great(I'm laughing as I think about it). If you have the chance try Local Travel Partners, the really did a great job for us. Hirokane even met us when we returned to the ship just to make sure everything was ok.

Great tour even without Fuji - We had a great tour with Kiyo. Booking and pick-up at the port were well organized and the excursion destinations well chosen. The taxi was spacious, the driver was very nice and Kiyo took us on a great tour. In the end, it wasn't so bad that Mount Fuji had unfortunately not shown up. Kiyo's English was very easy to understand, she was super prepared, gave a lot of background information and was able to answer our numerous questions. During the trip she even read us a relevant Japanese legend. That was totally sweet. Even without Fuji, this tour was definitely worth it. Kiyo has made them very special. Thanks for that!

Excellent Tour - The guide Motoko and the driver ( a gentleman) took me and my family an excellent and amazing tour on Nihondaira Plateau (including the green tea field, Nihondaira Yume Terrace Observatory, and Nihondaira ropeway), Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, and Miho Beach on June 13, 2025. Both Motoko and the driver are very professional and caring. Motoko is also very knowledgeable and helped us took many memorable photos. At the end of the tour, Motoko and her driver dropped us off at a plaza where we enjoyed great sashimi/other seafood/shopping. They both even gave us some gifts! I highly recommend this tour!

The tour run by Our... - The tour run by Our Reliable Partners was a very professionally run company. The manager Hirokane was excellent in communicating with us on exactly where our meeting point would be. When we disembarked the ship he was already waiting for us. We rode in a spacious comfortable air conditioner car with a professional driver Ted. Our tour guide Hiroko was a licensed guide who spoke excellent English. We covered a lot of ground from taking Ropeway to temples, tea farm, the pine forest and of course the observation deck to see Mt Fuij. Hiroko was very knowledgeable about all the sites visited and the culture and history of Japan. Both Hiroko and Ted always made sure we were comfortable and enjoying the tour. They brought us good luck for we got to see the very shy Mt Fuji and of course took many memorable photos. We highly recommend this tour and want to thank Hiroko and Ted for a special day. R & R

What a great way to see Mt. Fuji! - Our cruise ship docked overnight in the port of Shimizu, in the vicinity of Mt. Fuji, which we could see out of our stateroom. We met our guide, Kiyo, and our driver, Mr. Ted just outside the port. The car was a large and classy Toyota Crown with ample room for my husband's rolling walker. They took us out of the city and started by stopping at a bend in the road where one can get the best pictures of Mt. Fuji plus tea plantations. This is the kind of thing a tour bus just can't do. We then went to a tea plantation and learned about the process of tea picking and making and sampled (and bought) tea that had just been picked the previous week. We were then taken to the Nihondaira Observation Tower for stunning views of Mt. Fuji. From there it was onto the Ryuge-ji temple which dates back to the Shogunate period, with lovely gardens and a charming small temple where one can have tea and matcha chocolate. Our guide was kind and informative and the driver top-notch.

Great Introduction to Shimizu Port - We had a tour guide (Masa) and a driver (Ted) on this tour, so we got twice the normal amount of information. We took the ropeway up to the top of the mountain and learned about the monks walking up the mountain in years past. The views were stunning. We then went to Lake Tankuki and learned the history of the planting of the rows of trees and shrines within the park. We invited Masa and Ted to join us for lunch. Masa could not join us, but Ted agreed. Since Ted was the driver, it worked out great. We asked him to pick the restaurant. He selected one of his favorite places. It was an outstanding soba noodle restaurant. We love visiting restaurants frequented by locals as opposed to tourists. This was one of those places. We had a delicious lunch.

The BEST! - Our guide Hero and driver Ted are the absolute BEST! They accompanied us for the day in Shimizu … guided us through an authentic tea plantation, helped us as we climbed the many steps of a Shinto shrine, and much more. Throughout the entire adventure, they showed such professionalism and kindness … we can’t say enough about this amazing Japanese duo. We highly recommend using Local Travel Partners—try to get the Hero/Ted team if you want an outstanding tour!

Wonderful day with Hero and Ted in Shimizu - Wow- our guide (Hero) and driver (Ted) exceeded our expectations today! They were easy to communicate with prior to the tour via WhatsApp and even rearranged the start time of our tour when our ship revised its schedule at the last minute. After meeting both Ted and Hero, we discussed our plan and were off quickly. These men treated us like family, displaying patience, answering all off our questions and even taking photos for us. The time flew by; we stopped to see Mt Fuji peak from the clouds at the observation building, rode the scenic ropeway to and from an incredible shrine, learned about high end green tea, and quickly stopped by a local fish market to see the beautiful seafood on display. Another highlight was the pine forest and sharing ice cream with these fellows. I will definitely recommend this company in the future to all of my friends, family and guests. Such a relaxed and lovely day!
