Famous for its timber craftsmanship and rowdy festivals this village is a rare gem among the towns and villages of this mountainous region. - Takayama - Next stop is Takayama, you will spend 2 hours here exploring this beautifully preserved old town, famous in Japan for carpentry and Sake brewing. History and Culture with Friendly Guide - Our tour guide, Jun, was so friendly and helpful. His English was impeccable, and he was able to answer nearly all of our questions. He did an excellent job explaining the history and background of the places we visited. He picked us up from our hotel, helping with umbrellas and as needed. Shirakawago was a fascinating old village with roughly 400 still living there. We walked through the village, up the hill to check out the views and then toured one of the thatched-roof homes. Next, we drove to Furukawa where we enjoyed lunch at a restaurant serving Hida beef (like Kobe except from Hida). Jun was very patient, even though my husband and one of our friends were late because they had wandered to a nearby musical instruments store. Lastly, we drove to Takayama, which was a small town where the koi fish are abundant in the little canals. Jun also kindly let us borrow his phone to communicate with our hotel regarding our dinner reservations for the night.

Kanazawa in Depth - Kanazawa Tours are to be complimented for the quality of their communication skills, their organisational ability and the quality of their guides Ai,Nozomi and Yuta who are very special people. They are passionate about their country and its culture. Beside showing us the highlights of our itinerary, they took us "off the tourist track" and provided helpful advice on restaurants for us to visit.

Excellent tour from Kanazawa to Shirakawa Go. - This was an excellent tour. Yuta drove us in a comfortable taxi. His English is excellent so that he can easily describe and explain local history and customs and understands our questions.
The three of us were picked up at our hotel early so that when we got to Shirakawa Go it was not as crowded as it became later.
We had a very enjoyable traditional lunch in Takayama. We were able to wander through Takayama and then Yuta took us to Hide where we wandered through some of the older parts of the town.
We prefer a small group tour and its also important that our guide Yuta's English is excellent so that he can describe the more interesting aspects of the culture and landscape. Yuta was friendly and enthusiastic.

Best tour in Japan - Our driver Jun was waiting for us in the hotel lobby and drove us to several villages and led us on a wonderful tour of the historic sites. He spoke English very well and was a pleasure for the afternoon. We had many sake, tastings, and lunch at a beautifulrestaurant with only a few tables. It felt like a completely private experience.

Amazing places, amazing people. - Our guide, Yuta, was not only a knowledgeable guide, but an incredible host. He would stop to answer questions and kept the tour interesting with his own questions. These three destinations were incredible and well worth the day trip from Kanazawa. Both my wife and I highly recommend this tour!

A wonderful day in Kanazawa - Ian from Kanazawa Tours was an exceptional tour guide. My wife and I really enjoyed his professional and personal touch while taking us on a tour of the Samurai and Geshia District in Kanazawa.
He also took us to Gyokuserin Maru Garden. We saw many interesting parts of the park and finished up our half day tour at a nice Tempura restaurant that Ian picked out for us!
We highly recommend Ian to be a part of your guided tour experience while visiting Kansawa Japan.

Yuca is an amazing guide - Yuca was an amazing guide , he was so informative and made us feel comfortable all the time , we had a 15 month baby with us and he was very patient and cordial ! He was a great driver as well !!!

Shirakawago is a must see - Yuka was a great driver and tour guide. The vehicle was spacious and we had reclining seats and foot rest. Due to the ship only being in port till 4:30pm we did not go to Takayama. Shirakawago is a must see. We spent a good portion of the day there. We had lunch in Hida Furukawa and walked the town and did two saki tastings. We learned alot and we beat the crowds.

Highly recommend tour! - Our tour guide Kumiko was absolutely wonderful, she drove us to to Shirakawa where we learned about and explored these interesting house construction in incredible surroundings. The second half of the day we went on a walking tour of Takayama, visited several shrines and tasted sake!
Our guide went above and beyond to assure she answered all our questions, facilitated taking us to couple not in-route specific stores of my personal interests, and she even followed up with further information after the completion of our day.
It has been a great experience!

Private tour bus and guide - Yuka was a wonderful tour guide. She drove safely, gave us interesting history of places and towns we visited. And attended to our needs meticulously. This was one of the best parts of our trip.
