Fun time with Shun - I ended up on a private food tour with Shun. He was able to customize the tour with some extra stops of historical significance. It felt like having dinner with a friend. I had some food I had never tried and some favorites. The Sake flight was quite fun.

Last minute Solo tour was a great time. - I really enjoyed this tour. I got to try some new things. We went to a couple spots only locals who know go to. That is what I wanted. Going down small alleys and side streets felt like an adventure. Akihiro was really nice. He has lived in the US so English is clear and easy. He also does walking tours so the info walking between the restaurants was great. The first spot was dumplings. It was good. I did get a few things I hadn’t tried there before. I do wish they picked a spot that felt more “underground” for that. The last two spots did scratch that itch. We walk through Golden Gai and he point out a couple spots. I went back with a friend and had a great time! Overall I recommend the tour! Bring some cash so you can buy additional food or drinks.

Excellent guide. Great cultural experience - Fascinating tour with top guide Aki. Make sure you book Aki! We learned a lot about food culture and where to go to get great food. We wouldn’t have found and learnt so much without our guided experience. Highly recommend.

Great walk with some wonderful food and Japanese wine! - Aki is a wonderful guide! The best that I have come across so far. And this walk in Shinjuku is a really cool one covering different areas of Shinjuku and also three really nice bars/pubs with great food and Japanese beer + wine.

This last minute booking wound up being one of my favorite nights in Tokyo - I usually have our food tours planned well before we get on a plane, but when we found ourselves with an open evening (after the Shonan Coast proved a little windy and cold), I used GetYourGuide on my phone while on the train to search for food tours that I could book for the same evening. This one seemed a little pricey, but it was available, so we went for it. Or group wound up just being us and one solo traveler also from California. I kind of felt bad for him because he doesn’t drink alcohol, and I wondered if they had adjusted the price; one place had NA beer, but most places, he got a soft drink. Our guide Yuto had excellent English skills, and I loved that we walked around Shinjuku in between the food stops. He also answered all of my burning questions about the hosuto culture. I think my favorite stop was the gyoza (we get pretty basic ones here in California) and then the warm taiyaki. Also really enjoyed having someone lead the way in the Golden Gai area. It was definitely worth the cost, and being a little tired the next day, to see Shinjuku alive at night (even on a Sunday).

I liked it a lot - I happened to be the only guest on the tour and I was happy that it was done anyway. I had 2 nice Guides (1 person was a trainee) and have an interesting, informative and delicious evening spent. Both were very concerned about me and spoke good English, so we could talk well. Much was explained to me and all my questions answered. I've had the good evening fallen, the selected food was delicious and I came to restaurants the I'm probably not alone would have found or visited. I can recommend the tour. 🙂👍
