This workshop offers a unique opportunity for visitors eager to dive into the realm of Japanese manga and anime culture. Participants will be guided by a seasoned manga artist with over 20 years of experience, utilizing traditional techniques that have developed over the last century, enabling them to create their own manga.
Attendees will follow the same process as a professional manga artist: brainstorming, rough sketching, drafting, inking, filling in solid blacks, applying screen tones, and adding speech bubbles.
No need to worry about drawing skills. With the guidance of a manga artist, any concerns will vanish. In fact, many who shared the same worries have successfully completed high-quality manga in just two hours.
The minimum number of participants is 2 people. The fee for participation alone is equivalent to that for two people.

Fantastic experience - You can be a complete beginner or have experience drawing manga to enjoy this. They give you ideas but it would be best to think about what you want to draw beforehand. The manga artist then takes you through all the steps, helping out when needed. My kids (aged 12) and I all came out with an appreciation of the work that goes into manga and an artwork we are proud of. This experience was a highlight of our trip.

Wonderful Drawing Experience - It was a wonderful experience! We had a blast and even though we had very little experience, our results were amazing, because we were supported and guided by an experienced team (artist and translator). Definitely one of our highlights on this trip!

Great experience for manga fans! - Brought my son to try this experience since he loves drawing and is a big manga fan.
We picked this particular class since the created works posted look professionally done and not those “kawaii” cute style.
We had a great time and learned a lot from Shingo sensei. He really helped with guiding us through the process and creating a half decent drawing for someone that has no artistic skill like me.
A must try for manga fans!

A must do experience! - The Manga Drawing experience has been the most engaging actiivity we have done in Japan as a family. You absolutely do not need to be an artist to leave with your own amazing finished product thank to the help of Masa and his artists. The process of creating manga is extremely interesting and it was enjoyable to engage with true manga artists. You get to pick what you want to draw. My son, who is 10 y.o., drew a character from My Hero Academia while my wife used turned a family picture into mange style art. We left with our drawings and we were so inspired by our wonderful experience that we purchased a drawing set and a drawing of one of the artists. Masa and his team are very friendly, nice and passionate about sharing the manga culture. Go for it and you will have a lot of fun!

Unforgettable Manga Experience - Absolutely a fantastic experience learning how to draw Manga characters with Master Shinjo. The team was extremely professional, patient and helpful. This is a truly memorable experience whether you are a Manga/Anime fan or not. Communication with the coordinator, Masa, was clear and consistent. I highly suggest this unforgettable experience! Get their early and check out the neighborhood as well!

Great snapshot of our time in Tokyo - Such a fun experience! Chie Sensei and Masa were great. We had a small scheduling snafu with them but Masa arranged a different time that fit our schedule. It was the highlight of the trip for our 9 year old daughter. Though, 9 is about as young as you’d go for this class. The techniques require some care and patience, but thankfully the teachers helped out.

Interesting Class - Very enjoyable experience. Learned a lot about the type of drawing. Instructor engaging and fun. We were able to successfully draw what we wanted to. Come with an idea what you want to draw. Very interesting learning about the tools used. However, our tickets had directions to an office in Ebisu, we arrived early but it was not the place. I contacted by email the instructor and was directed to another office in Shibuya. This required going back to the train station and heading to Shibuya Station and then finding our way to the new office resulting in being a half hour late to class. Fortunately we helped two others find their way too. Disappointing and frustrating. We should have been sent an update email with instructions to where the class was changed to.

Learn to Make Manga for Everyone!! - This class is for people who enjoy manga, art, and being creative. The instructors are well knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. I took the class with my daughter, and despite our different skill levels we both learned something new and enjoyed the experience. They were able to assess my skill level and made really good suggestions to improve my original sketch and expand on the storytelling aspect of manga. Working with professional Mangaka made the atmosphere in the room motivating, engaging, and exciting. If I make it back to Tokyo again, I would take the class again.
