Great tour guide - Our Local Guide Stars tour guide No No was excellent, connected and personally sharing a lot of historical background for the Meiji era was really great - highly recommend for a 2 hour tour of the a Meiji shrine - we were lucky with 2 Shinto weddings and a big anime group dancing festival on in the park.

An Unforgettable Shrine Experience – Highly Recommended! - It was a rainy day, so everyone else cancelled, which led to an incredible experience just for me. I met up with Keiko at the station and we walked to the first Torii. There, she gave me a really in‑depth talk about the shrine and explained the basic respects to pay before entering. We then walked through the grounds to the Sake barrels. Keiko explained everything in great detail and pointed out things I would have missed on my own—for example, the significance of the 88° right turn. Next, we went up to the shrine, where she taught me how to cleanse myself, show proper respect to the Shinto religion, and how to pray. Afterwards, we spent time walking through the gardens, including Kiyomasa's Well. The whole setting was beautiful and spiritual, especially with the rainfall and Keiko’s thoughtful commentary. The experience took around 2 hours and felt very personal. I would highly recommend it to both groups and solo travellers. I left with a much deeper understanding of Japan’s amazingly rich culture and religion. Thank you, Keiko, for sharing your country with me :)

Insightful and interesting tour - A lovely tour and great start to our stay in Tokyo. Yui was an organised and informative guide. She took the trouble to send a WhatsApp with directions to the meeting point, which we appreciated. On the tour, Yui explained the history and significance of the Meiji Shrine. She explained the Shinto religion and the role of the Emperors both through history and in the present day. With generous and gracious insights into her own practices, she revealed how the Shinto traditions are still maintained today. Arigato Yui!

Our morning tour with Keiko - Keiko was our tour guide and she was lovely, kind, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our morning walk through the garden and exploration of the shrine. Keiko answered all of our questions and helped us to learn so much about and appreciate the role of Shinto in Japanese culture, identity and values. We came away from the experience with even more appreciation for Japanese history and culture. Thank you for a lovely morning, Keiko!

Relax and Shinto in Tokyo - The experience, in its simplicity, allows you to understand more about the Shinto religion and the Japanese imperial system. In addition to the sanctuary we also visited a hidden garden. The guide was very kind, available to answer our doubts, and prepared!
