- Zhujiajiao Ancient Town - Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel at 09:00 a.m.. Then, we will transfer to Zhujiajiao and start the highlight tour. Also known as the ‘Venice of Shanghai,’ Zhujiajiao is the best preserved of the four ancient water towns in the Shanghai area. With a history dating back over 1,700 years, Zhujiajiao is full of lovely canals and waterways, small alleys, picturesque bridges, and ancient buildings, many from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The best way to explore Zhujiajiao is on foot and by boat. We will stroll through 1,700 years of history on a leisurely boat tour of this delightful water town. Then, We will visit landmarks including Kezhi Garden, the Qing-period post office, the City God Temple and Yuanjin Temple. Zhujiajiao post office is the earliest post office in east China, which is the only well-preserved Qing dynasty post office in east China. At noon, we will enjoy local specialty for lunch. - Sinan Road - After lunch, we will back to Shanghai downtown and visit several historical street. Sinan Road is a famous French-style road in Former French Concession Shanghai. There are about twenty garden houses on both sides of the street that are representative of almost all the residential styles of Shanghai in the early 20th century. Stroll down this clean and romantic one-way street and enjoy the shade of the plane trees on both sides of the road. You can feel the peace in the middle of the crowded Shanghai. - Xintiandi - Xintiandi is a tourist attraction that preserves the historical and cultural features of Shanghai and integrates Chinese and western culture. Xintiandi is divided into northern and southern parts. The south is dominated by modern architecture. The north is dominated by Shikumen old buildings. Composed of Shikumen and modern architectural style, now it has become a hot and fashionable pedestrian street in the center of the city. Actually, it stands for the popular and leisurely life style of this city’s new generation. The outdoor cafés, bars and romantic restaurants can be seen everywhere. We will have a relaxing afternoon tea break time. - Shikumen Museum, Shanghai - It is an old shikumen house built in the 1920s that has been preserved and renovated. The museum was built according to the model of one household in the 1920s. There are seven main exhibition rooms, namely, the guest room, the study room, the old people’s room, the master room, the daughter room, the pavilion room and the oven room. The story of a shikumen family runs through the whole visit. It not only shows the unique shikumen architectural culture of Shanghai, but also reproduces the living space and lifestyle of Shanghai people in those days. - The Bund (Wai Tan) - The Bund is a famous waterfront on the west bank of Huangpu River and regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. Here, the charm of Shanghai as a bustling metropolis combining the century-old history and flourishing future is fully presented, making the Bund Shanghai a must-see attraction. We will see the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles at the Bund. Such as Peace Hotel, Shanghai Customs House and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. - The Bund City Sculptures - We will see the Bund City Sculptures, Monument to the People’s Heroes, Huangpu Park and Waibaidu Bridge. - Huangpu River - At night, when the lights of buildings on both banks of the Huangpu River are illuminated, the Bund displays its most fantastic side. It is worth appreciating the florid Bund night view from a Huangpu River cruise. The dazzling lights fully exhibit the magnificence of the various buildings and make up the best night scene of Shanghai together with the colorful light shadows floating in the river and the flashing lights on the far side of the river. Afterwards, enjoy comfortable transfer back to your hotel. Wrap your memories and say good-bye in your hotel.
