Insightful and tasty tour - The tour with Max was fantastic and I learned so much about the history of Shanghai. Max gave a very unique and personal perspective because he grew up here. The sight and food he used were very well thought out. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of Shanghai’s history.

Not your typical tour, but an amazing experience - First off: This tour is quite different from the "standard tourist tour." The excellent guide provides fascinating information and insights into Shanghai that you would never otherwise discover. The 4h tour began in an antiques store, where the guide used the items for sale to explain aspects of Shanghai's culture and history. From there, we continued through the French Consession. At various stops, the guide described the history of different parts of the French Concession and the local way of life, and the chosen locations and stories really piqued my interest. In addition to the cultural aspect of the tour, there was also a delicious portion with stops at various restaurants. These restaurants offered both traditional Shanghai dishes and refreshing drinks. The food was among the best I've had in China. I have nothing but praise for the guide: incredibly friendly, very accommodating, attentive, interested, and with excellent English skills. The guide created a friendly and calm atmosphere. He also always made sure that no one got lost. Furthermore, he took time between stops to have personal conversations and share a bit about his life. It was also interesting for me to talk to him because he is one of the younger guides I've had so far. We were a group of six people. For this group size, the tour and guidance were excellent. This was also thanks to the guide's wife, who also took numerous pictures of our group. All in all, I can highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Shanghai; it offers a wonderful, relaxed introduction to Shanghai's culture, history and cuisine. Greetings to you and your wife Max! Fun tour in which you can discover many things - A really great tour, we learned a lot about Shanghai and saw corners we would never have discovered on our own. There was also plenty and very delicious food. The tour is absolutely worth its money, Max is open and friendly and the tour and fun

Very pleasant and informative tour with Max - The trip was very informative and entertaining at the same time. I've been living and working in the city for more than a dacade. Although knowing the area quick well, I was still impressed by the freshing information provided by Max. It was interesting to see the streets that I walk every day through different eyes. Max also did a great job in presentation. The trip was coupled with many documentary video clips that illustrating the local lifehood back in last century. Overall, the trip was very well organized and Max was very professional and caring to hit tour members. I would recommend the trip to whom want to know the cultural and historic side of the city.

An Unforgettable Blend of Flavors and Views - This Shanghai breakfast and French Concession tour was the highlight of our trip. We discovered incredible hidden breakfast spots, feasting on a delicious array of local foods. We loved the crispy, savory sheng jian bao, the delicate xiao long bao, and a refreshing mango dessert for a perfect sweet finish. The tour beautifully transitioned into the charming, tree-lined streets of the French Concession. A spectacular finale was a stop at a hidden rooftop offering a peaceful view over the neighborhood's treetops and historic shikumen architecture. This tour perfectly balanced authentic food, fascinating history, and a beautiful perspective of the city. An absolute must-do.
