Sheena rocks!!! - Today was great — walking tour of Victoria added on at the last minute and the hike made a great combo for the day (add’l fee was reasonable). This is an amazing hike and Sheena makes sure of that!! Going through the forest to get to the coast and rock pool was so much fun. Sheena was knowledgeable and super patient!! And the weather held up!!

Absolutely Incredible - Today we arrived in Victoria and embarked on this incredible adventure…hiking to the rock pool! Our guide, Sheena, was absolutely amazing. The driver and Sheena met us at the exit of the cruise terminal. We headed approximately 1 hour to the south end of the island where we got to see and pet giant turtles…unbelievable! After taking in the views, we began our hike to the rock pool which may have taken 30 minutes to get there. It is recommended that you wear sturdy shoes that will allow you to hike on uneven and slippery surfaces. Our all terrain water shoes were perfect for the hike. Once we arrived at the magnificent rock pool, we had the opportunity to dive or jump into the pool. While our group was having fun enjoying the water, Sheena was taking lots of videos and photos of our adventures. Sheena is a very experienced guide and knows this location and terrain very well. I would recommend only doing this hike with an experienced guide like Sheena. This adventure was among our top 5 most incredible lifetime experiences. I would highly recommend this excursion. What a wonderful way to spend Christmas Day 2024! We are so appreciative of the experience Sheena provided us on our first but definitely not last visit to Victoria, Seychelles.

Pure adventure and fantastic views – be sure to join in! - The guided tour through the jungle was just awesome! It literally went over stick and stone, so sturdy footwear is really a must. The hike was adventurous and it was really fun to wander through the wild nature of Mahé. Our tour guide Sheena was super cool and told us a lot about the island, the culture and the people. She made the tour a special experience with her warm manner. The trail took us to fantastic viewpoints that offered breathtaking views of the surrounding area – absolutely worthwhile! The time was completely sufficient, we had enough breaks and could enjoy nature in peace. All in all, a really awesome tour that I can recommend to anyone who wants to experience adventure and nature!

Norman's family - Fairly simple route, except towards the end, a good pair of walking shoes is recommended. Finding it without a guide is a challenge. To do superb.

The wonder of nature - Forest hiking trail lovers should visit it. We were in the tide and we could have taken a safe swim, but the pool water didn't look clean enough. The end point offers a beautiful view of Anse Intendance.

Book a guide - hiking to the rock pool without one is a bad idea - Hade been eager to see the rock pool, so as we visited Anse Takamaka, we decided to go for the hike. Now here's all the don'ts I got for you (so please do it i another way yourself). 1. There are no signs except for in the beginning and at the very end. With a guide you will not spend a lot of time guessing at every turn. 2. Wear good shoes. I didn't. 3. Manage your expectations. In the end, it's a hole in a cliff. 4. Be ready to climb. I'm quite short and for me, some parts were really hard to reach. 5. We spent 45 minutes or so hiking to the pool. Of course that included a few wrong turns. Bring enough water! Luckily, that we did.

Disappointing and expensive - We were very excited about this tour as we loved the idea of hiking to a remote pool and going for a swim with a beautiful view. We kind of thought of it as similar to the cenotes in Mexico but on a cliff. It was unbelievably hot on the walk through the woods and it was only at the halfway point that we were told that we couldn't actually swim in the pool as it was dirty after all the recent rains (we had to ask as the guide did not mention anything either during the 1 hour drive to the pool or during the hike to that point). I am really not sure what the point of this tour is if not to swim in the pool. During the walk, our guide talked on the phone for most of the time (and while driving as well which was concerning). She did not provide any information about the history of the pool (geological or otherwise) or any botanical info or even give us information about how much further etc. I used my phone GPS to triangulate distance and time. My mom and I eventually turned back after walking about 30 mins in the heat and humidity AND after we were told that we wouldn't be able to swim in the pool. My husband and daughter continued on to the pool and were totally underwhelmed. The pool did not look like the photos at all and it is challenging to get down to it from the top of the rocks. Our guide was a bit nonplussed about the fact that despite the description in the listing: "Your guide takes you on a short hike to reach the pool, then you have time to jump, swim, and enjoy the cool waters before heading back" that this was not actually possible all the time. We would have appreciated knowing this before we started out. Our guide also didn't really seem prepared for any sort of emergency - no water, no first aid kit. This was in stark contrast to the other guides we had used during the week who were all very professional, seemed quite focused on the tour and made sure to point out their emergency kits, cold water and other amenities. It should be noted that this tour was more expensive than the full day island tour which I truly do not understand. Strongly recommend asking about the condition of the pool before confirming the tour and make sure you have your own water and emergency first aid kits. As a final note, the hike lasts about 45 - 60 mins and is very overgrown in parts, uphill and not very well marked, rock scrambles at the end and slippery rocks. It is definitely an easy/moderate hike except the heat is awful and it was not enjoyable at all. All in all it was very disappointing.

Disappointing - Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with the trip. It started with the fact that we woke up in the morning with the news that she wants to pick us up instead of as planned at 9 am at 8 am and we also don't get the German guide as booked. ( It probably booked a tour very late at 3 pm last night and that would have collided with the times. Am I asking myself the question? Then why do you give the times like this? ) As a result, we wanted to cancel it. Because everything has been changed! We were then able to agree on 8:30. The guide was 20 minutes late, half as bad. The drive went about 1 hour and the hike 20 min. The guide is rushed and told NOTHING. He ran ahead and was on the phone. Seemed very disinterested, unfortunately. (After Motto did the tour and collected the money) it seemed as if she had no experience whatsoever. We did not dare to enter the water, because she could not assess the waves properly and all this seemed so disinterested as I said before. There were still pictures taken and after 30 min we are back again. The tour goes eig 4 hours our was over after 3. Honestly, I don't know what we paid 180€ for either. This was the worst tour in the Seychelles we did.
