A Cozy Valentine’s Day in Seward

As the sun rises over Seward on February 15th, the town is blanketed in a serene layer of snow, creating a picturesque setting for a Valentine’s Day weekend. For those seeking a deeper connection with nature and history, the Tonsina Trail Hike offers an afternoon adventure from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This hike is a journey through time, where the moss-covered forest and the breathtaking views of Resurrection Bay serve as a backdrop to stories of World War II and the significant historical figures of the area. The trail, though not overly challenging, offers a sense of accomplishment as you reach Tonsina Beach, a hidden gem that reveals the majestic beauty of the surrounding mountains.

Enchanting Forest to Glacial Mountain View Beach - Our hike was guided by Dylan, who is a local and has good knowledge and experience about traversing the trails and survival skills including bears. The trail is a beautiful one and well forested and ends up in a gorgeous beach by the Bay overlooking tall Glacial mountains. It is fairly easy with a bit of elevation gain and descent to the beach and we could do it even though we are not experienced hikers. We had a great time with Dylan as he explained the flora and told us about his experience with fauna! Would love to do more hikes with him in the future!

February 16th dawns with a mix of snow, rain, and partly cloudy conditions, a day that promises both adventure and tranquility. The morning is perfect for the VIP Tour to Anchorage, starting at 9:00 AM. This small-group tour is a curated experience that offers a unique perspective of Alaska’s natural beauty and wildlife. As you travel in comfort and style in a Mercedes Sprinter Van, the journey from Seward to Anchorage becomes a narrative of scenic landscapes and wildlife encounters.

The tour includes a visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where you can witness the majesty of Alaska’s animals up close. The Portage Glacier and Byron Glacier Trail offer breathtaking views, while the stop at Girdwood Station provides a taste of local flavors. The drive along the Turnagain Arm is a visual feast, with opportunities to capture the beauty of the landscape and perhaps spot Dall Sheep or Beluga Whales.

Seward to Anchorage - This was an amazing trip from Seward to Anchorage! Saw wildlife- highly recommend. This was the best tour we did on our Alaskan cruise and this was after the cruise!!!
