10 stars!!!! - Carlos was an extraordinary guide. He didn’t just show me “sights” he told me the history behind each and every place he took me. In my opinion he went above and beyond what was expected of him by the tour description. I think anyone who uses Carlos will be enthusiastically pleased. I know I was.

Amazing tour, recommend 110% - Wow, what a day! We can not say enough amazing things about our wonderful guide Carlos. He is so full of knowledge and eager to share both facts and lore about the island but also the other islands. Wonderful storyteller. The day was even better than we hoped it could be and can't wait to return so we can book another day with Carlos!

Really worth it - Carlos and Monique were very flexible when the error was mine.
The tour was encyclopedic and thorough. We had a great time and we learned so much.

Great island tour - This was a great island tour. Communication when booking was exceptional, they picked us up at our Airbnb and everything was as described. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable and interesting, giving tips, info, and stories about the island and his own experiences throughout the tour. Azores weather is unpredictable, so he was able to shuffle the itinerary to accommodate the viewing of the lake before the clouds rolled in, decreasing visibility. There was initially and issue getting us both tickets to the thermal pools—but he worked his magic and two tickets were acquired, allowing us to get the full experience.
Everything promised in the description is delivered with this tour. We really had an amazing time learning and seeing the island with Carlos. Could not recommend this more. Thank you so much!!

Azores visit - Tour guide was fantastic--very knowledgeable and very interesting. Wanted to thank him for the act of kindness-he gave lunch leftovers to a hungry cat-thank you so much for that!

Find your history! - We were looking for family history and Carlos went above and beyond to show us villages where grandmother was from and saw much more than advertised. His knowledge of the area and history of the island was incredible. Fire lake and the two plantations were interesting and his information added to the enjoyment. A great way to see and learn about the island. Highly recommend for American tourists as Carlos is flueny is English
As he spent many years in the US and just fun to spend a day with.

Educational and Entertaining Tour - Our guide, Carlos, enhanced our trip tenfold! His kind, gentle demeanor, historical knowledge and understanding of what we would enjoy made for a splendid day. He took us to Furnas where lunch was being prepared by local restaurants. Large pots of meat and vegetables are cooked by the steam from the active hot springs. His flexibility and intuition was so welcomed! I would highly recommend this for anyone with an Azorean trip planned!

Talk about "much ado about nothing" - This was a real bust, to say the least. The guides knew full well that the weather over the lake was going to be miserable--wet, cold and nasty; but, did they make some changes in the itinerary? No, we just went on up the mountain to "see" the lake! Note that "fog" is clearly stated in the name of the lake. And, foggy it was all the way up the mountain. We had chosen this trip because we really wanted to see the countryside, but that was not possible.
As for the lake, you will see ONE photo in this review. It was the best of the 2 minutes we saw a little piece of the lake.
You can find some pictures of the lake on line. It is not a great one, but probably the best they have.
We had a good time on the remainder of the tour and saw some nice sights. It would have been far better to have spent more time touring the low lands, ocean fronts, and small cities I have included some pictures of these to let you know there are alternatives to present to your guide if this happens on your tour. Lousy weather over the lake is not an unusual event--she said it happens frequently.
