Impressive waterfalls offering opportunity for exceptional swims, such as the Poço Verde, along with the preserved historic assets in the park’s administration center - a chapel dating back to 1713 and a 19th-century mansion, make this destination an excellent choice for exploring Rio de Janeiro’s Mountainous Region.
This official Ecotourism trip includes stops in the cities of Teresópolis and Guapimirim.
- Recommendations: wear light clothing and hiking shoes, daypack with water, snacks, swimming suits and sandals, dry clothes for changing, towel, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, cap or hat, sunglasses, jacket, passport or ID card, cash for tickets and extras.
- Hike length: 5 km / 3,1 miles (approx - round trip)
- Rainy weather does not affect the scheduled tour of the forest, which is known to be more enchanting and lively during such weather. The waterfalls are more magnificent and the chances of spotting wild animals increase during rainfall. Visitors are guaranteed a safe and unforgettable experience in the forest, regardless of the weather conditions.
