The 2nd Tunnel - Discovered on March 24, 1975, the 2nd Tunnel was constructed by North Koreans for an invasion of South Korea. This tunnel extends 3.5 kilometers and is located 50 to 160 meters below the surface. It stretches 1.1 kilometers and 2.4 kilometers in the south and north directions, respectively. Only 500 meters of the tunnel is accessible to tourists. Inside, there is a plaza designed to accommodate a large military force. The tunnel is divided into three exits and could facilitate the passage of thirty thousand armed forces and tanks per hour. Currently, the tunnel is part of the Cheorwon Security Tourism Course, attracting numerous visitors annually.
