A meeting of providence in Ephesus - Our happenstance meeting with tour guide Volkan will always be a highlight of our trip to Ephesus - He could see that I was apprehensive about reaching Ephesus from the van we were traveling in - and since he has just finished a nursing tour - offered to give our small group of 4 an afternoon tour ! He was a Godsend and made the whole afternoon a breeze - we are so thankful to have met him ! What a wonderful experience to walk where Paul once spoke to the Ephesians - thank you for everything, Volkan !

Can’t Imagine Touring Ephesus without Volkan! - Our tour of Ephesus was fabulous. Our guide, Volkan, was personable and very knowlegeable. I cant imagine touring Ephesus without him!

Best possible guide! - Volkan is a very knowledgeable nice guide who made our visit to Ephesus exciting, educational and fun. He answered every possible question, was patient and polite when we needed some extra time for photos or for some rest from the heat. He is the best guide you could possibly wish for for your visit in this exciting place!

Excellent Tour & Lots of Local Tips! - Volkan gave us a tour of Ephesus and it was amazing! We were initially going to explore on our own, but thought we would gain so much more if we went on a tour. We're very glad we did because it made our experience a lot better! Volkan is very knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about his work.
We told him that we were headed on a tour of the Aegean coast and he shared many great recommendations. He even gave us his business card with his whatsapp info and said we could reach out with any questions we had. We've reached out to him a few times already and he's been very responsive and insightful. We're so glad we met Volkan. He made our trip to Turkey so much better. Book yourself a tour with Volkan if you want a wonderful tour of Ephesus and amazing local tips :).

Amazing Tour of Ephesus! - We ran into Volkan at the gate and ALMOST didn't take his tour. That would've been a BIG mistake! If you walk around Ephesus without knowing the history, you can finish it pretty quickly.
However, you would be doing yourself (and your group) a big disservice. The history is so rich there, and Volkan is full of interesting, cool, and fun facts! He is super knowledgeable about all of the monuments, buildings, roads, and everything and was able to answer any question we had.
There are SO many things in Ephesus that don't look like much and we would've definitely walked past TONS of stuff, not knowing all the amazing stories and history behind it.
Volkan was an amazing tour guide, his English is excellent and he is now certified to do Spanish tours too!
Do yourself a favor and call Volkan for a tour. I promise you'll get so much more out of Ephesus than just walking around yourself.
He also gave us tons of tips for our road trip along the Aegean Coast. I highly recommend a tour with Volkan!

Fantastic - Volkan is a very knowledgable guide.BUT the most amazing thing is how passionate he is about his craft. Touring with Volkan is a one-time experience to relive the history that unfolded beside you as you walk.

A treasure trove of knowledge - Volkan is an excellent source of knowledge and offers keen insights as well as a friendly demeanor. His near endless stream of well-researched interpretation is interspersed with plenty of humor, local insight, and narrative flair. Also, he has a fondness for animals and knows where to find the best kebaps in Selcuk - so he's a winner in our book. Highly recommend 😁

Highly Recommend Volkan Avci @ Guide Ephesus - Volkan Avci (Guide Ephesus) is an absolutely fantastic tour guide of the highest calibre. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the site and also knew a great deal about the current archaeological excavations that are being done there, which was of great interest to me. I honestly cannot recommend him more highly and as a professional art historian and curator, this is high praise indeed. We had a wonderful day together and I learned a great deal about the history and cultural aspects of the site. Volkan has a real talent for lecturing, but could easily do a fabulous tour for non-experts or families as well. My day in Ephesus was one of the highlights of my recent trip to Turkey. He is a superb guide and I honestly can't imagine anyone better or more knowledgable about the subject. I'm so pleased we managed to meet and it was a great pleasure to see beautiful Ephesus through his eyes.

Great tour at Ephesus site with wonderful tour guide! - We didn't plan to hire a tour guide at the beginning but were frustrated when wandering around in the Ephesus site following an audio guide rented from the site (with some of the numbering wrong). We were so lucky to come across Volkan at the gate, a professional tour guide with 20 years of experience, who kindly showed us around, introducing to us those well-known landmarks with great details and humor, and even to his cat and dog friends there :). It turned out to be such an enlightening and informative afternoon! Volkan had shared his great knowledge, interesting stories as well as his own thoughts and interpretation about the site and the ancient city, leaving me hunger for more after going back. Volkan is also very familiar with the neighbouring areas (as well as the country) and we wish we had known him earlier when visiting other parts of the area. We cannot say thank you enough to the Volkan and would recommend him to everyone!
