DIVE.IS Meeting Point for Silfra tours - Upon arrival 15 minutes before the start time, you will check in with the guides at the meeting point at Silfra. Once your group of max 6 people has been formed, your guide will give you your drysuit, warm undersuit and snorkeling equipment. Your guide will explain how to use this equipment and how to ensure that you will be warm and comfortable during your tour. You can change in our heated Changing Van and the guide will help you with putting all the gear on. We recommend wearing long underwear and thick socks.
Your guide will brief you on Silfra and safety as well as information about Thingvellir national park, the tectonic plates and the continents. The briefing and gearing up takes approx 1 hour.
You will walk 5 minutes to Silfra and start your 30 - 45 minute snorkeling tour of Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon.
After snorkeling in the cold water, we warm you up with hot cocoa and cookies. This is your chance to chat with your guide, ask any questions you might have and take a look at the pics taken during the tour.

Embark on a snorkeling adventure of a lifetime at the Silfra fissure!
Drift between the continents inside two tectonic plates, witnessing the world’s clearest water (with a visibility exceeding 100m), and the enchanting hues of the submerged universe.
You don’t have to be a licensed diver to witness such clarity! Snorkeling at Silfra caters to all who have a comfort level with water and can swim. This activity is family-friendly and recommended for individuals aged 12 and above.
The snorkeling tour at Silfra is conducted in a dry suit that keeps you warm and dry while you swim in the icy, transparent waters.
Silfra lies within Thingvellir National Park, recognized by Unesco as a heritage site. This exquisite park ranks amongst the marvels on the well-known Golden circle route.
- All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. The form can be filled out online
- All participant’s height, weight and age information must be provided to local operator to ensure they bring the best fitting drysuit. The tour operator will contact you after booking to ask for this information.
- IMPORTANT - Participants over 60 years of age must have their doctor sign the approval form in order to participate
- Drysuits are worn over your own clothing. We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks as a base layer under the dry suit
- Minimum height is 4ft 11in (150cm). Minimum weight is 100lbs (45kg).
- Maximum height and weight is 6ft7in (200cm) and 264lbs (120kg).
- Participants must be comfortable in water and able to swim, physically fit and healthy
- Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting
- All participants must be able to communicate in English
- Not suitable for pregnant women
- All participants must be at least 12 years old

DIVE.IS Meeting Point for Silfra tours
After you have entered Thingvellir National Park, turn onto road #361. Stay on this road for a few minutes and take the 3rd right where you will see the Silfra car park with our company vans. Drive a little further to parking lot P5 to park and walk back to meet our guides.

Core memory - Such an amazing experience. This was a truly unforgettable tour. Briosh was such a fun guide and made our time together even better. If you are considering this tour, I recommend doing it!

Snorkeling with Briosh was an incredible experience for the whole family! - As a family of snorkeling beginners, the team made the process of getting suited up so organized and they talked us through every step. Our guide, Briosh, was absolutely incredible. He kept us safe, informed, and laughing throughout the whole trip. He also took amazing pictures along our journey! This was an all-around incredible experience that you can’t get anywhere else in the world!

The best experience! - If you want to experience snorkelling/diving in Silfra, I highly recommend you do it with this company. They have very good equipment, nice dry suits, everything is clean, organized and ready to use (as an experienced diver I pay a lot of attention on that) and hey have even a cool van where you can change clothes! Diogo (our guide) was very nice and made the experience even more unforgettable, thank you very much! :)

Great experience with a great guide - It was an amazing experience with a super professional team of DIVE.IS. Clear instructions, high quality gears, efficient preparation, helpful team members. Our guide Briosh was very warm, happy, fun and helpful, paying attention to details and making sure everyone was taken care of at any moment, even people in other snorkeling teams. The true Viking experience at the end was for sure to be remembered by our boys! Big thanks!

Briosh! A TOP RATE FOR HIM as our guide. - We started the day at 08:00. Briosh was our guide.
He was funny, experienced and made us feel like his own ‘little fish’.
He worked hard to make each of our experiences amazing and I want to thank him for his kindness to all of us. The rest of the team was amazing and jumped in to help or make a joke. Good team. We just had most interactions with Briosh

Amazing experience! - It was an amazing experience! Briosh explained everything amazingly nice, we learnt a lot :)
And when we went into the water... Wow! That was beautiful! He told us the track that we would follow and how to do it properly.
This is a one life experience!

Not made aware a doctors note needed - I signed up for snorkling trip. Only after I paid was I informed that because i'm 62 i required a doctor's note. It was a Sunday and I was only in Iceland for a few days. Needing a note was mot made clear on your website. The outfitter refused to reimburse me. Hopefully Viator will make me whole
