Take pleasure in snorkeling at Silfra with your own personal guide. The temperature of the Silfra Fissure ranges between 2-4 degrees. You get to pick either a drysuit or a wetsuit for an immersive Viking experience. We will be in the pristine water for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. A wetsuit provides more flexibility and enables you to dive, whereas a drysuit offers warmth as you gently drift down the crevice between continents.
- All participants must know how to swim and be comfortable in water
- All participants must be able to communicate in English
- Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting, especially around the neck and wrists
- Minimum age is 12 years, please reach out regarding younger participants & Participants over the age of 65 need to get a physicians approval.
- Be at minimum 150cm (4’9) tall / maximum 200cm (6’7) tall, and be at minimum 50kg (99 lbs) / maximum 120kg (264 lbs)
- Don’t wear glasses, instead bring contact lenses or your own prescription mask (if you have one)
- Recommended to bring a change of clothes (the drysuit has a very small chance of leaking)
- We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks a a base layer under the drysuit
- All participants heights, weights and age must be provided to local operator. If you do not provide at time of booking, please contact supplier immediately after booking to provide this information
- All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. Please find a link to the medical statement on your ticket voucher right after booking the experience to be sure if you qualify.
- Please dress according to weather - no heals or jeans
- Note: Each guide can assist one group of up to six participants at a time. Up to three different groups can be present during this activity.

Please park your car at “Thingvellir P5” and walk 400m back along the road until you reach a smaller car park with all the snorkel and dive. Please be there, ready to meet your guide 15 minutes before your tour is due to begin.

Silfra snorkeling with Alex - This was an amazing experience and would highly recommend. We threw a wrench in our guide initial plans as we were the only two in our group to do wet suits (also highly recommend doing the wetsuit). Alex pivoted beautifully and helped my spouse and I get into the wet suits. They're not easy to get into, but well worth it. Alex provided some history and knowledge of the area which was an added bonus. He kept checking in on everyone in the group to make sure we were comfortable and out suits were doing what they were supposed to do. Absolutely a wonderful experience and a bucket list item for me.

Snorkeling between plates! - Going with dory was so much fun! The snorkeling experience had lots of giggles and she was very to the point and helpful. Gave us her time and patience and made sure to communicate well.

Swimming in the Clear - I had an amazing time! Alex did a wonderful job at giving us information and history of what we were doing while making it entertaining! He also made sure to help when we asked but also let us have freedom to explore the water and enjoy our time enjoying this absolutely beautiful spot of God’s creation! Thankful for this experience it was so much fun and definitely worth it!
