Beautiful an oasis of relaxation and fun - After a quiet walk, you arrive in beautiful places, full of charm, natural pool where you can dive. Continuing with the visit there are other places where you can swim and you can advance until you get to a fabulous cave with a waterfall inside. It's totally worth it. Upon arrival you pay an OM R a small journey with the boat that leads to the beginning of the trail.

Beautiful experience - We decided not to book a tour and did the Wadi Shab hike ourselves. It was the best decision as the hike is very easy and at least then you can stay for as long as you want and enjoy the natural pools. It’s all free and you only need 1 OR per person to cross in the little boats.
You will need:
*A waterproof bag- the ones that they sell there are NOT waterproof and if those bags do go under water all your stuff will be soaked.
* A cover for your cellphone to take videos and photos and a waterproof pouch for keys
* cold water - if you can - try and carry an ice pack because with the heat- your water becomes terrible hot.
* snacks especially if you want to spend extra time there and relax because the hike and swim does deplete your energy in the heat.
*a cap, sunglasses, sunblock and comfortable hiking shoes or water shoes
The heat can get to you, especially if you hike during midday so be prepared and stay hydrated. It’s really a beautiful experience.

Excellent - a great trip - We went to Wadi Shab as part of a private tour. It was breathtaking. Our tour guide Nasser made all the arrangements, covering the initial boat ride and his contact of a young man to escort us - to my shame I have forgotten his name.
It is a wonderful experience. Beautiful scenery, part hike part swim, ending ( if you go that far ) with a cave and small waterfall. Don’t be put off at the initial river crossing!
Wear old walking shoes - you leave these when you go for a swim so you might not want to leave expensive shoes. Equally, the walk was a flip flop graveyard so don’t be tempted! The walk is very gravelly and narrow at points, climbing rocky bits too so wear appropriate shoes.
It’s also worth bringing a cheap pair of beach shoes for the swim part - the are parts where you walk across stoney stretches where you will be grateful!
I was grateful to have a guide with us - he knew the better paths to take, where to leave stuff, etc. For example, we saw people who had thought they’d reached the end when there was so much more to see. Also, he gave us confidence to leave our stuff (no valuables).
On the swim, take goggles but no loose sunglasses, etc (our guide dived for a good few bits of treasure along the way!)
Remember, there are still mountain dwellers and donkeys who deserve respect and should be allowed on their way unhindered.
By wearing a swimsuit under a light floaty dress, or swim shorts with t-shirt once you finish swimming you can throw these back on easily and will try on the walk back.
The views are stunning and most will feel it is something they’ve never experienced before

Wadi SHAB, the TOP of the TOP - splendid, exceptional, what to say ... once you get to the parking lot (avoid the WE , big influence ).
Take a boat or cross on foot (in the distance a few meters you can do it), count 1 OMR for the AR crossing.
20 to 30 minutes walk, provide water and food (a restaurant is present near the crossing).
After the walk, wowhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...
Be careful, however, this activity is recommended for good swimmers, young children, amateur swimmer, avoid going to the wadi voucher, this can be very dangerous for some.
For the others, go without hesitation.
Plan to: Water, cap, sunglasses, waterproof shoes (it slips!!!! ), and swimwear suitable for women.

great experience but mandatory guide - Beautiful wadi, but be careful I see a lot of comments that say you can go alone, yes alone stopping 3/4 of the way but if you want to go all the way (where obviously it is the most beautiful) you really need a guide!

To do... - I recommend arriving early, around 9am to prevent the Wadi from filling up with tourists.
Needed:shoes for walking between slippery rocks and that can be used in the water.
Clothing for women better cover up in the first stretch for the presence of local men.
Bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses and hat.
Recommended to take a guide.
On departure they sell shoes and accessories useful for the excursion, even life jackets. After a walk of about 45 minutes, you arrive at the first pool, then you continue mainly swimming and on slippery rocks that the guide advises you how to deal with.
You cross steps through rocks and arrive in the last pool where you will find a waterfall that you can climb up through a rope. Be careful because it is very easy to slip and then you can get hurt. The hike is pleasant though a bit tiring. Those who want can stop at the first pool to sunbathe and swim. You can use the bikini being a tourist place. Duration about 3 hours. A trip absolutely recommended.

Great scenery but a bit touristy - Make sure to do it early in the morning or in the afternoon, as the sun shines relentlessly into the valley around noon. Unfortunately, after a three-quarter hour hike by the pool at the end of the wadi is very busy. Still an impressive landscape, even if the tour is a little crowded.

Enjoy - Go as early as possible. Maybe like 7-8am. After 10am the crowds will destroy the atmopshere.
Swim all the way into the cave.
Be carefull if weather is Bad. Wadis Can be a very dangerous place, because of waterflooding!
Take a mask if you are Into freediving, but be careful with current,

Too noisy and messy - Place is too crowded probably due to Eid Vacation. Location has poor organization, too much mess with lots of noice. Some people doing barbequing in such a lovely place creating bad smokes. I was really disappointed.
However nature wise a beautiful location to visit

Plastic, plastic and more plastic! - The wadi itself is really gorgeous, but whats with all the plastic?
We swam all the way up to the cave, but it was not a nice experience! Plastic bottles, plastic lids, food wrappings, bagage tags etc. was EVERYWHERE in and around the water. And the walk from boat to the pools is also littered with plastic bottles.
It looks awfull! Shame on you humanity!
