Great star tour - My wife and I did the tour last week and it was amazing! Christopher was a great guide to the stars. He was very knowledgeable and enjoyed sharing that with us. State of the art equipment, telescopes and viewing the sky on the monitors enhanced our experience!

Black Sky Adventure! - Chris was very knowledgable & clear in communicating the night sky on our tour. Looking thru his 18 inch large telescope was awesome & then seeing on TV screen from his computer operated telescope the difference in what CAN be seen was impressive.

Must-do activity for ant Sedona visit - Sedona is a certified dark sky area. Take advantage of the low light pollution and go on a dark sky tour with Night Owl tours. You drive about 30 minutes from the village of Oak Creek out to the location where the stargazing is done. It’s a pleasant drive. The last three or 4 miles are on a dirt road that can be done by any type of vehicle but does require a little bit of care. Once on top of the hill, you’re greeted by Chris and all of his fabulous toys. He’s got chairs for you, a big screen TV, and two of the coolest telescopes I’ve ever seen. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable in astronomy and will take you on a tour of the stars like nothing you have ever seen. You’ll get to look through the telescope yourself at the various things that he’s pointing out and hear all about our galaxy and other galaxies in the universe. The sky view from the stargazing area cannot adequately be described. On a clear night the amount of stars you can see is limitless. Make time to do this while you’re visiting Sedona because it’s absolutely worth the effort.

Stargazers - The experience operator Chris was wonderfully knowledgeable and friendly. Our family had an excellent time. Can’t wait to do it again in the winter with a new sky! If you’re thinking about doing this BOOK IT! it’s awesome. You get to experience two different telescopes on top of the amazing views with the naked eye - sky out here is incredible. Chris is great!

An Awesome Night-sky Tour of the Heavens! - It was a great experience! They were prepared for all 10 of the people that came by having chairs and blankets for us to use. They had two telescopes but we only looked through one (which was fine), the other was what they used to find the distant galaxies and then projected onto a large tv. We saw things that we never imagined we would. Chis and Kim are great hosts and are very good at keeping everyone busy seeing things we never imagined. It was a wonderful first night activity for our time in Sedona! We highly recommend this!

Excellent Dark Sky Deep Space Tour - We had a wonderful time. We got to see star clusters, nebula and galaxies from deep space as well as planets and star clusters in our solar system. The projection on the television and manual viewing through telescopes was a nice mix. We appreciated the warm blankets and cozy chairs. As backyard telescopes it was wonderful to see objects we can’t see or find on our own especially in our light polluted town. Our teen loved this tour as it was a great addition to her astronomy course from this school year. So glad we did this tour!

I've never seen the sky... - I've never seen the sky like this before. This was an incredibly unique experience, with opportunities to use the telescope. Chris and Kim were very knowledgeable and communicated clearly about the night's location.

Great all around experience, terrific equipment! - The equipment was phenomenal but we only saw 5 objects in the telescope and 2 images on the screen. We were hoping for more! Saw Saturn in the scope which was thrilling. The laser pointing out the constellations was awesome. Hint to viewers: To speed things up with 12 people, stand in line at the scope instead of leaving your chair one at a time.

Disorganized and not worth the money - The tour leader/astronomer was completely disorganized, he didn’t have the equipment set up - we waited over half an hour from the scheduled start of the tour while he set it up He would take at least 10 minutes going between/setting up the two telescopes in between looking at one object in the sky and did this mostly without speaking so we sat and waited in silence until he would start speaking again. This made the tour, which was supposed to start at 8:30pm, drag out unnecessarily. We were exhausted from our day exploring and expecting much more organization and a bit of a faster pace. He didn’t seem to have self awareness about how the tour was coming across either. He finally had to end the tour because the clouds made it difficult to see much. He was apologetic and very knowledgeable but the overall presentation was scattered and too drawn out. We appreciated he said we would be given a full refund in light of all the issues, but would not necessarily recommend spending time on this.
