The perfect day trip in Crete - We were picked up right from the hotel on time. After being warmly welcomed by the guide we were allowed to sit in the clean and air-conditioned Land Rover. The drive took us through villages we would never have found, partly off-road to the Lassithi plateau. Then to Zeus of his cave. Then there was a fantastic lunch in a small tavern. Well saturated, we slowly headed back towards the hotel via small sights. Thanks again to our guide Petra. You gave us a unique day in Crete.

Stunning! - Anyone on a Crete holiday must have been here. The dripstones in the birth cave of Zeus are truly impressive. The ascent is a bit arduous, but you are rewarded with a cool drink - above and after the descent.

Explore the myths of Crete. - Our guide today was Michael, and outstanding and outgoing guide. He arrived right on time at 9 am and we began our journey. Since we had previously been to an Olive Oil factory, we went on to drive up the mountain and learn about the goats in the area. Michael had brought along some corn for us to feed the goats and the herd(?) came running upon seeing the car. It was fun playing with the friendly goats and saw some climbing in trees. After that we moved on to a high view of the Lisithi plateau for nice photos. Moving on to the Psychro cave, the reported birthplace of Zeus. There was a fairly steep path going up to the entrance but once in the cave the air was very cool, the cave had decent steps to enter and exit. We went to eat traditional Greek lunch at Taziapxos tavern nearby the cave , were treated to excellent food, wine and Raki. While there we met the owner who is a native Cretan and was in traditional dress. Loading up again in the Land Rover we drove to a high mountain pass where a line of very old windmills stood as a testament to the wind powered mills that was once used. We proceeded to the oldest Plain Tree in Krasi village, the trunk is truly impressive. At the end of our trip Michael was full of information relevant to everything we passed, especially the local flora and fauna being fascinating. The trip was everything we hoped for and Michael was a real treat.

Amazing Day Trip with Fantastic Guide. - Amazing Trip! We booked the day trip as part of our honeymoon to Crete. We chose this trip as the itinerary covered a lot of things we wanted to see so it was great to see so many things covered in just one day. We were collected from our hotel exactly at the time agreed. Our guide was Petra - she was incredibly knowledgeable and in addition to giving us lots of information and stories relating to the itinerary and places we visited on the day, she also gave us lots of tips on places to go and tips for travelling for the rest of our holiday. The itinerary was exactly as described and there was the perfect amount of time allocated for each stop. We liked that it was a small group and Petra was also very easy going and made the day really relaxed. The food was really good at the Taverna stop and a particular highlight for us was the mountain goats! Thank you Petra!

Highly recommended - Our driver Jean Paul arrived on time to pick us up and the adventure began. First an interesting and informative visit to a local olive oil producer where we shown the process and indulged in a tasting session, there was no pressure to purchase anything but we did as it was very good oil. Then onto a visit to mountain village of Krista for a short stroll around. Then it was off up into the mountains with spectacular views followed by some off roasting before reaching the plateau and the climb to Zeus cave. As long as you take it easy there is no problem and majority of route is paved. Trip up takes around an hour and well worth it. Then off to local Taverna for some simple but tasty food, wine and of course raki. Next off to visit the ancient plane tree at Krasi and finally a visit to monastery. It was nice that despite coming to Crete for many years I came across new places. The driver Jean Claude was courteous, friendly and entertaining. Having seen other companies with what I can only describe as overloaded vehicles we so glad we chose this company.

Great day at the Lassithi plateau - Nice day with many activities and views. We enjoyed the air-conditioned vehicle and the water frequently offered. Nothing wrong with the outbound and return pickup. As for the Gaetan guide, we were immediately put at ease and could exchange on various topics including the history of Crete and the experiences lived on the island. Thanks to Gaetan for his energy and good humor.
