Great introduction to some of the local specialties - This was our second tour with Benoit. He gave us a very good overview of the history of this tiny town. Even though we’ve been staying here for almost a week, he added a lot to our historical perspective. Benoit took us to three distinct places – one with a lot of wonderful traditional cheeses, the second with traditional duck dishes, and the third a cute little café, where we had an espresso and tasted some of the local sweets made with walnuts. Great tour— just way too short. This could be a much longer tour without any difficulty.

Delicious experience - This was a very nice walking tour around the old city of Sarlat on market day. It was guided by Lina, who was friendly, knowledgeable about Sarlat history, and enthusiastic. As this was a food tour, we visited three merchants and sampled local specialties. Be advised that the tour involves considerable walking and climbing around a medieval city. We don’t think it would appeal to children. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Great time at the market! - Anne was a wonderful tour guide for our trip to the sarlat market. She is so engaging and fun to be around. I really enjoyed trying the cheeses, the foie gras, the wines and the coffee. Be sure to stay at the market after the tour and walk around. Lots to see!

Highly recommend - Maarten was an excellent guide. Although I had been in Sarlat for a few days prior, his narration of the locations and events of the town was much more than I’d learned through reading and exploring on my own. The tastings exceeded my expectations. After this tour, I had a much greater understanding of Sarlat history and culture.

Beyond Excellent! - Martin is an outstanding guide--he beautifully outlines the history of Sarlat and keeps his clients captivated with his storytelling and enthusiasm. My friend and I were on the morning Walking and Market Tour and the afternoon Dordogne Villages Tour, and I highly recommend BOTH!

A gastronomic treat - This walking tour through Sarlat on a market day was fantastic. The food and wine tastings combined with a little history of the region and the town were the perfect combination for an enjoyable morning. Ann is an informed and engaging guide who answered all the questions with a smile and made sure that we understood the answer. I HIGHLY recommend this tour.

More history than gourmet - We are a small group who has travelled together many times. We take a Food Tour to help plan our shopping and restaurant visits during our stay. This tour was more focused on local history and less on food. Our guide was very friendly and his English was adequate. He was unable to answer some of our food questions but was willing to ask the vendor. The tour visited only three store-front establishments and stopped at none of the street market vendors. Therefore, we could have easily and more conveniently done this tour on a ‘non-market’ day and avoided all the crowds. We all prefer a more immersive experience when sampling local offerings.
