Highlights
  • Gradska Trznica - Meet your guide at the entrance of Tržnica, the indoor city market where locals purchase fresh food sourced from pristine countryside areas with clean air and pure spring water. Dive into a world of delectable cheeses, unforgettable flavors of cured and smoked meats, and other products crafted from centuries-old recipes.
  • Serbian Orthodox Cathedral - Explore Liberation Square (Trg Oslobođenja), a hub for markets, concerts, exhibitions, and pubs. One section of the square features a large chessboard. At the center stands the Monument All Man Multicultural, symbolizing liberty, alongside the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral.
  • Art Gallery of Bosnia and Hercegovina - Visit the impressive Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Army Hall to learn about medieval times and the stećci (Bosnian tombstones).
  • Central Post Office - Stroll along the Miljacka river to the Central Post Office building and discover Sarajevo’s infrastructure, bridges, and rivers.
  • National Theatre - Stop by the National Theatre building on your way to a local buregdžinica to savor delicious pita (Bosnian pie).
  • Eternal Flame - See the Eternal Flame (Vječna Vatra), a memorial dedicated to those who liberated Sarajevo during World War II, first unveiled on April 6, 1946, marking the first anniversary of Sarajevo’s liberation.
  • Pijaca Markale - Visit Pijaca Markale, a marketplace where many locals buy fresh produce and seasonal fruits and vegetables.
  • Katedrala Sarajevo - Explore the Sacred Heart Cathedral and its surroundings while hearing stories about Sarajevo’s history and the famous Sarajevo Roses.

  • Gazi-Husrev Beg’s Bezistan - Visit Gazi Husrev Bey’s Bezistan (covered bazaar). Its Ottoman-style architecture, reminiscent of the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, offers a glimpse of ‘a piece of Istanbul in the heart of Sarajevo.’ Shops here sell traditional Ottoman-style clothing and gifts, and haggling is part of the enjoyable bazaar experience—a must-see in Sarajevo.
  • Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque - Visit Gazi Husrev Bey’s Mosque, or Bey’s Mosque, built in the center of Baščaršija in 1530. This mosque is considered the most significant architectural monument from the Ottoman era in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
  • Old Sarajevo Clock Tower - Located in Sarajevo’s historic old town, the Old Clock Tower is one of the largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is believed to be the only clock tower in the world that keeps lunar time, making it appear perpetually broken.
  • Bascarsija - Stroll through Baščaršija, the city’s historical and cultural center, and treat yourself to traditional Bosnian dishes. Watch how they are prepared in an aščinica, an authentic traditional restaurant offering fresh, traditional Bosnian cooked meals.
  • Sebilj Brunnen (Fountain) - Visit the Sebilj Fountain and drink its fresh water. Legend has it: “Whoever drinks water from any of Sarajevo’s fountains and spouts will return to Sarajevo.” Afterward, sip some homemade brandy, juice, and coffee while enjoying the ambiance of a typical Bosnian café. Bid farewell to your guide and group, but feel free to stay at the bar after the tour concludes.

Excellent thorough historical and gastronomical food tour in Sarajevo! - I’m from Florida, my husband is from Bosnia, and we needed to kill time before our next flight. Our tour guide Enes blew us away with a lively walking historical and traditional food tour! Even my Bosnian husband learned a lot of new information. Enes taught us about Yugoslavia, Ottoman Empire, Tito, the 90s siege, and so much more! If you’re a curious history buff and open minded person, you should definitely take this tour. You will eat enough and walk enough to make all those calories worth it! Enes is so charismatic and high energy, 10/10 would recommend.

We cannot say enough praises for our tour guide. Christie and I really appreciated the personal touch she gave us. Marvelous day and would recommend this tour to anyone. Wish we could remember her name but we think it was Elana. Thank you so much for a great experience of Bosnian food and drink.

Great first day in sarajevo - had a great tour on our first full day in sarajevo. my wife and i were the only ones who booked a tour that day (saturday may 27). we had a younger guy who i believe said he was giving his first tour. he was very knowledgeable about sarajevo and seemed to really enjoy what he was doing. he took us to a couple places that i'm sure we would not have found on our own. as we finished up with a couple of drinks we chatted about the rest of our trip we had planned, some of his future plans and just overall what was going on around the world. it was a great way to spend our first full afternoon in bosnia.

Informative and tasty! - We had a great time on our tour. You could find all the places we went to on the map yourself, but the information the guide gives is priceless. They are able to show you exactly what is good and unique and tell you about it as well as answer your questions. Definitely worth the price!

An excellent, thorough—and delicious—lesson on Sarajevo - I always love learning about a city through its food and food-makers. Lana, my incredibly knowledgable guide, hit some of the city's finest food stops and delivered a thorough—and delicious—lesson on Sarajevo and its people. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

The best! - Vedad, our tour guide, was lovely, and we learned so much from him - about traditional Bosnian foods and history. We then had a special session with the owner of Balkantina about local products, wine, liquors and more.I highly recommend this tour for anyone new to Sarajevo - it was a great in-depth introduction to the city and its culture.
