The Zlatar mountain, located a short distance from Konjic, houses an edifice commonly referred to as Tito’s bunker. Until its true function, majestic interior, and grand underground magnitude were disclosed, it was simply perceived as an isolated structure in the wilderness, as the saying goes. More than three decades prior, this nuclear bunker was constructed as the primary command center for the former JNA. This structure was under construction for 26 years, with a whopping $4.6 billion invested into it. Only four official commanders were privy to the bunker’s existence, and the workers involved were bound by confidentiality agreements.
