After lunch we then return to our transport and off to an onsen. Then we return back to Sapporo.

Before the hike commences, you will be provided with some helpful information to assist you with moving in a cold environment such as pacing to conserve energy, observing the route ahead, and evaluating the best route to minimize hazards. Learn about nature and navigation skills in a winter environment, enjoy a hearty meal outside for lunch while experiencing the wilderness at a slower, more intimate pace amidst the quiet beauty of the snow-covered terrain.

Snowshoe Magic! - I went on a snowshoeing trek with Chris and it was epic! The weather changed frequently throughout the trip, but overall the snow was so fluffy, the conversation was great, and there was a lot to see and enjoy on this epic journey. We did an easy mountain hike to 2 peaks (Fujino). We cooked our campfire lunches with the camp stove and enjoyed a nice hot meal on a really cold day where the wind gusts started to make it a bit chilly when we stopped moving for lunch time.
Then we made our way to the onsen which was a nice way to complete the trip. Even though I lost my locker key, everything was great about this trip. Thank you so much Chris for a great experience in Hokkaido. Anyone who wants to snowshoe and get a local perspective should definitely sign up for this tour. It's a fun full day! He also recommended the ski jumping comp that happened that weekend which was also a great locals insight into events happening in the area! Woohoo!

Amazing hike through snowing country - The tour was fantastic, if you are in Sapporo you need to get on this tour.
The national park was beautiful, and the snowshoe experience was exactly what we wanted.
Chris was an amazing tour guide. He picked us up, provided us all the gear we needed, and took us through an amazing hike.
Additionally, he was very responsive and helpful. I have extensive tattoos so he found an onsen for us that I could visit after the hike. It is tricky to find onsen sometimes in Japan if you are heavily tattooed.
I woukd recommend this tour and Chris as a guide to anyone looking for this experience!

One of the most unique experiences of my life! - Snowshoeing in the mountains outside of Sapporo with Chris was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As much as I enjoyed the scenery and solitude, the banter Chris and I shared almost the entire time was also top-notch. He is the ultimate trek mate!
The course Chris had chosen for us to navigate was perfect for my ability level, which is something I had been impressed with on other reviews of his tours I'd read prior to my signing up for this one. Lunch prepared by Chris and eaten at the turnaround point of the hike was the perfect way to divide the day in half. Chris is a true professional, and the insight he shared from his ten years spent in the area added a unique dimension to our tour. I got a thorough workout, enjoyed the pristine nature of this region, and learned so much from Chris. In short, everything was beyond my expectations. I would definitely do another experience with Chris on a future trip to Sapporo.

Great experience snowshoeing and onsen - I did a snowshoeing hike followed by an onsen with Chris. It was a great hike, with beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes. Highly recommend it. Chris is a great guide, checking if the pace is good, very knowledgeable and comes well prepared.
The onsen after the hike was perfect. Chris explained the etiquette, which I really appreciated. Beautiful location, very relaxing and a great way to end the hike.
Overall I can’t give a high enough recommendation for Chris and the experience. If I could I would give 10 stars.

Awesome experience snowshoeing! - Chris is an excellent snowshoeing guide. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and very flexible on the route. He takes safety seriously, has solid equipment, and is very experienced. He is also a fun guy to chat with. The warm curry was a treat after the morning in the snow and the onsen was a great experience.
We would strongly recommend his guiding service!

Best experience in Hokkaido! - My girlfriend and me booked it half day snowshoeing tour with Chris. It was one of our favourite experiences in Japan so far. The hike was amazing and Chris adapted to tour to our skillset perfectly. Was absolutely amazing to have this adventure in the nature!
Having lunch together and visiting the traditional onsen after the tour was another big highlight for me. In addition to that Chris explained a lot about the nature and wildlife in the area and about life in Japan in general.
10/10 experience for me. Can’t wait to come back and do it again. Thank you Chris 💪

Magical hike through the Hokkaido winter landscape - Chris is the perfect host (knowledgeable, fun, friendly but not obnoxiously chatty) for a hike through the winter landscape of Hokkaido. The meeting point is very easy to reach even from central Sapporo, and the hike through the virtually untouched nature was an amazing experience! The onsen visit as a finish is ideal, the onsen itself and the view from the bath are absolutely stunning. I have visited a lot of onsen in Japan and this was definitively one of the very best. Cannot recommend this activity enough.

A Snowshoeing Dream Come True - This snowshoeing experience was amazing. Chris was a wonderful guide in providing tips about snowshoe safety and information about the different trails in the Jozankei area. The lunch spot was serene and peaceful, eating delicious curry and drinking hot cocoa. The stop at a local onsen afterward was the perfect way to end the day. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience an escape from the crowds to trek through the deep powdery snow that only Hokkaido can offer while traveling in Japan in the winter.

Enchanting views and delightful hike! - I had a wonderful time snowshoeing with Chris! We headed out to a trail in Shikotsu-Toya National Park. This specific hike was suitable for a first time snow-shoe experience [I understand that the difficulty can be tailored] and the views were beautiful. Chris set a nice pace, pointed out animal trails, and dispensed safety advice. A warm camping lunch was provided. This was finally capped off with a trip to Jozankei onsen which warmed me up thoroughly. I would recommend this experience- why aren't there more reviews?
