Great family bonding lesson - The hands on experience was fantastic, our family members enjoyed the lesson. We had a good understanding of the tedious process and got to enjoy our hand made soba. The meal that accompanied the soba reinforced our satisfaction of yummy soba taken the right way!

Lovely soba making experience - A lovely experience making soba with Taku. We enjoyed the process of learning the techniques for turning just buckwheat flour and water into delicious noodles. Then served with tempura of local fresh ingredients, made a memorable experience, thank you both!

Soba Fun in Sapporo - We had an awesome experience making soba on this booking. Our 10 year old granddaughter was able to fully participate and enjoy the carefully conveyed instructions. Not only did we get to make our own soba, we got to enjoy them perfectly cooked with tempura. So plan to come hungry.

Fun and tasty soba-making experience - If you’re heading to Sapporo, you have to try this soba-making workshop at Mondo. It was one of the highlights of my trip! I’ve done a few cooking classes before, but this one was honestly the most fun, and the most delicious. We used buckwheat and wheat flour from Hokkaido and did everything by hand. Mixing the dough was a mini workout, rolling it out took some focus, and cutting it with the big soba knife was a bit nerve-wracking but super satisfying (I was so scared mine would turn out like udon 😂). But the best part? Eating it. The soba was chewy, nutty, and full of flavor, and it came with the crispiest tempura I’ve ever had. That giant asparagus was so fresh! The staff were really friendly and made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. I’d totally recommend this to anyone visiting Hokkaido. It’s such a fun and memorable way to try something local. Thanks to the Mondo team for such a great time! 💛

Family bonding in Japan - We really enjoyed this experience! It was a nice experience with my family on our trip to Japan. It was the perfect length - not too short, not too long. The chefs were lovely and educated about soba. The meal of soba and fresh vegetable tempura were amazing, too!

Great experience and meal, great hosts - This is a blast. The lesson isn’t too long and is very informative. The meal after is delicious. We spent about 30 minutes preparing the noodles, then another 30 or so enjoying soba with tempura and sake. I went with my wife and in-laws and we all had a wonderful time.

He was also very patient with us, and guided us through the process.. he’s also a lot of fun! Best of all, we got to eat the soba noodles we made!! It was delicious!!

Would not recommend - Unfortunately, I do not have good reviews for this experience. I will share my negative opinion because there doesn't seem to have any and that led me to booking this class. It appears not to be suited for anyone with previous home cooking experience, especially if you have made pasta at home. The chef red facts about soba in a fair english. He made notable efforts to communicate the recipe. He was otherwise friendly. Probably more suited for kids or people with no cooking experience, and would recommend for japanese speaker. The experience was over after a big 30 minutes, when the noodles were rolled and cut. I was disappointed I didn't learn making the broth. The description of the experience stated the making of tempura, but turns out we did not learn to prepare the tempura either. I was then seated and asked to write a good review to receive a free beer in the meantime the soba I had made plus a side of tempura were prepared and served to me. It was around 2 p.m. and had already had lunch just before. This experience takes place in a restaurant about 30 min away from city center. Positive point is that it's walking distance from Shiroi Koibito park that I would not have visited otherwise. Finally, 75$ / person seemed overpriced for the experience. I understand I had to pay for the meal , but that was not needed given it was 2 p.m.
