This natural beauty creates unforgettable vistas along the coastline of the parishes within the Municipalities of S. Vicente, Santana, and Porto Moniz.
The lush landscapes of this area are also shaped by volcanic activity and the erosion of its slopes. Visitors can explore the renowned volcanic caves, which were formed 890,000 years ago. There are countless reasons to explore São Vicente.
Another notable attraction in the municipality of São Vicente is a unique chapel built within a basalt rock by the sea. The São Vicente, or Calhau, Chapel symbolizes the region’s strong connection to faith and the ever-present volcanic rock.
