Outstanding Tour with Laura! - Laura was fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and fluent in English, Spanish, and even some German. She had a great rapport with the farmers, drove us safely both ways, and made the whole coffee and chocolate tour relaxed and memorable. The tour company was also friendly and very well organised in arranging everything.

We toured a local coffee farm and cocoa farm. - I can’t imagine a better day trip! Our guide Alejo was as friendly and knowledgeable as anyone my wife and I have ever met. We are so grateful he was our guide, he made our trip truly special. The farm tour including the coffee and chocolate production were also very special. Many thanks to the owners and their hospitality. 500 stars!

You are not looking for a corporate tourist activity. You are looking for a unique life experience - We were so fortunate to have Alejandro as our guide. From the beginning, we connected with him as if we were old friends catching up. As we drove through MedellĂn on our way out to the coffee and cacao farm, he took the time to explain to us the history of the country from before the time BolĂvar broke up Gran Colombia up to the present day, and over the extremely diverse geographic regions that make up the distinct foods and cultures that make up the Colombia of the Amazon compared to Andean Colombia. Pacific Colombia, and Caribbean Colombia. As many Americans tend to know very little about South America, I was so fortunate to get so much time to learn from Alejandro. This only made our trip at the farm that much more special. The farm itself was perfect for the children that joined us, as they were free to explore and feed the very hungry chickens and play with the endlessly flowing mountain water draining into a basin. During that time, we got to eat fresh fruit from the land while Alejandro took us on a trip to enlighten us to the global history of coffee and chocolate, and how Colombia became a premier grower of both. Through it all he helped us understand the struggles that local farmers have had to endure, both to their health as well as financially, . Harvesting and brewing coffee and experiencing the differences in processing was itself so special. And being able to open up a cacao fruit, roast it and turn it into chocolate that we ate that very day was such a special experience. I've had coffee from all over the world, but I've never had any coffee as good as what we got to drink and purchase from the farm. This trip is for those that really want to immerse themselves with the people and history of Colombia. Thank you Alejandro!

Great Memory of a lifetime. - This tour was great. The tour company representative Andres was extremely helpful. He always promptly answered any question I had and even helped us find a group tour with another company. The tour guide was Sara, and she was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable and was a very sweet and caring person. I could not have asked for a better experience and thank Medellin Day trips for our great memory of a lifetime. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Incredible Coffee and Cocoa tour with Laura - What an incredible, authentic experience with guide Laura. I have been traveling around the world for about 3 months and this was one of my favorite tours. The coffee and cocoa farms you visit are owned by really amazing and welcoming people. They make you feel like family. The farms have all types of birds, different fruit trees and plants. The views are amazing. My guide for this tour was Laura. She has incredible energy and is fun to be around, as well as incredibly knowledgeable about the cocoa and coffee production process. She even spoke about the plants’ ability to grow on a cellular level and I was impressed. Another amazing thing about Laura is her ability to speak English perfectly. Rarely do you get a guide that is able to act as a perfect translator between you and the local people you meet. I really enjoyed this tour and I would highly recommend Laura as a guide.

Authentic Experience - We did the coffee and cacao farm tour and it was the highlight of our trip. Our guide for the day, Sara, was amazing, her energy and enthusiasm were contagious and we learned a lot about not only coffee and chocolate but also general Colombian life and history. It was lovely meeting the farmers and their family, we really felt like we were experiencing their authentic life. This was definitely not a touristy experience which was a relief after some of the other things we did in MedellĂn. Much love Rob and Laura

Two in one tour - This tour is a must if you have limited time to experience and learn about the coffee and cacao farming business in Colombia. Laura- our tour guide, ensured that we would have a memorable, educational experience. We were picked up at the time of our choice. Our drive to the farm was fun. Laura's bubbly personality was very enjoyable. No questions went unanswered. This was a first hand look at the "Ma and Pa" operations of small Cacao and Coffee farms in the Medellin area. You not only learn the whole process, you get to participate in the procedures. The short walk up the mountain was a bit challenging but worth it. Thank you Laura. We highly recommend this tour!

Sara is the best - Fantastic tour and well cared for. Guide Sara is full of energy and knowledge! A lot learned from the sweet and hardworking farmers, where you go through the process yourself. Maybe quite pricey, but highly recommended this tour, it is definitely worth it. What is especially nice is that you have direct contact with the locals because Sara translates everything. This gives you a good idea of the lives, opportunities and challenges of these people. She speaks Spanish, French, English and some Italian. You just see her happy with her own country and its inhabitants. She's so proud. We book another tour just because of her!
