I cannot recommend Explore Chile Tours for English speakers. - I cannot recommend this tour company (Explore Chile Tours) for English-speaking tourists. We spent 10 days in Chile (Santiago, San Pedro de Atacama, Punta , and absolutely loved the country, sights, and people, but the communication from the company was lacking and the hotels they put us in in two of the locations were so far outside town that we had to arrange transportation. They switched 2 (of 4) hotels on us and while they did send a separate document showing those hotels before our final payment, they didn't update the itinerary that they sent us to reflect that, so we went to the wrong (very nice) hotel before realizing that we were in fact booked at a place way outside of town (San Pedro de Atacama). While there seemed to be tours that would have been in English, our group tours were generally in Spanish, and if we were lucky one of the guides would fill us in briefly in English. Our tour guide for the private Santiago tour (Alexis) was just learning English and really didn't seem to know all that much about Santiago - he was googling a lot. There were additional disappointments, but also overall the trip was good, so 3/5 rating (a "C" - I'm a teacher). Again, this company might be great for Spanish-speakers, but I would not recommend them to English-speaking tourists if you're doing more than going on a wine-tasting day trip.
