Fantastic - short overview of the cathedral’s history and some great recommendations of where to go! - Irene was a fantastic guide - humorous and informative. Kept a great pace and highlighted facts and pointed out things that’d you’d easily miss if you were walking round by yourself. So good we’ve booked on the cathedral tour tomorrow!

Best Guide for Touring South Africa - In June, 2025, my wife and I and another couple hired Gabe to show us around Cape Town and the surrounding wine country. We had used Gabe twice before when he was a safari guide to four countries in South Africa and a second time for a guided tour along South Africa's garden route.
My wife and I have been traveling extensively for over 20 years and have hired hundreds of guides. Without a doubt, Gabe is among the very best. He can put together almost any type of tour from golfing, to birding, to big game watching to city tours and especially wine country tours. Gabe speaks several languages and has an amazing knowledge of history, wildlife, native birds, S A Sports and can converse clearly on almost any subject about Africa. On our recent tour, one member has mobility issues. Gabe made sure she was comfortable and had the space for the equipment she needed to get around including a specious van with comfortable seating. Whether it is a Big Five safari adventure, a week golfing in SA, a birding adventure ( We identified over 100 species new to us on one of Gabe's tours), a foodie tour of SA, or an in depth tour of Cape Town's four major wine regions, Gabe will make certain your entire party is looked after. Gabe will furnish you estimated costs so that there are no surprises and customizes each tour to your needs. He is absolutely one of the best guides you will ever encounter. Gabe can be reached at [email protected].

More walk & talk - Don’t expect a lot of historical substance and quality details, it is more a casual and jovial talk & walk.

Language connection - There was only the 10 am daily offering for an English tour. With travelling arrangements, we stayed overnight to enable catching the 10 am start. They arrived 9:50 am. The tour guide's English was extremely difficult to understand. Storyline was hard to grasp. Disappointed with the walking tour in English.
