Amazing nature experience - This was a totally amazing experience. Our guide Marco picked us up from our apartment and drove us to where the hike started. The walking tour took us through reclaimed forest area. It used to be livestock, but some 30 years ago it was replanted with local plants such as wagya(sp), mahogny, bananas, cocoa and numerous other trees and fruit trees. And cameras has captured animals such as pumas, mountain lions and howling monkeys on picture. We did not see any, except for some friendly dogs that kept us company, and lets not forget the friendly boar! The scenery was truly amazing, the path was of moderate difficulty. We saw numerous fruit and other trees. Reaching the top of the mountain was a rewarding experience, seeing the roof of the trees. Amazing! After the trek, we went back and viewed the botanical garden, numerous plants and herbs as well as an indigenous settlement. Some roads were 1000 years old. About our guide. Marco is super friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the region, the plants and animals. He spoke both english and spanish. The tour was great, but, with the background from Marco, he took the tour to the next level. A truly epic adventure for me and my family.
