Great day trip to Minca - We really enjoyed this day trip to Minca. We were collected right from our hostel and brought to the meeting point of this trek in Minca. We returned the same way. Our guide Tony was very good. Very enthusiastic. We were brought to a local organic coffee farm, sampled the coffee and had a talk on the process of harvesting, fermenting and roasting coffee. We had a chance to swim in the rivers rock pools, so would recommend packing swim wear and a towel. This was very refreshing and really enjoyed it. The lunch in Jungle Joe's was very good and filling. The views from this spot were spectacular. After lunch there was a talk from Tony on all things nature, about the local reptiles and birds that inhabit the surrounding jungle. Then we had a talk about the Cacao plant, got to sample raw and dried out cacao and even got to make our own chocolate. It was really interesting and this was my favorite part of the whole day. It's a very humid part of the world so be prepared. Would definitely recommend good trek shows and bringing your mosquito repellent. And definitely bring a rain coat/poncho. It was not forcasted to rain but there were some downpours.

Nature 100% - The fresh air and tranquility of the place offer a total disconnection from the daily stress. I enjoyed hiking its trails surrounded by flora and fauna, visiting crystal clear waterfalls and drinking coffee directly from local farms.

Informative, Fun Coffee/Chocolate Experience! - Very informative. The guide had a lot of knowledge about coffee and the ecology of the area, and it was great that he did the tour in both Spanish and English. The woman who did the presentation on chocolate was also amazing and we even had a local singer/songwriter provide musical entertainment at the beautiful restaurant where we had a delicious lunch. Very much worth doing! Of course it was great we got to sample the coffee and the chocolate!

Exceptional and Full Day! - This was seriously one of the best full day tours I've ever signed up on. It was packed full of interesting activities. If you're just looking for physical activity and thrill, probably not the best choice but if you want to learn about the natural environment here, I can't imagine a better choice. The ride to Minca was by taxi. 🚖David, the driver, was very accommodating and picked me up at my hotel, even though I hadn't prearranged that. I was thankful to be able to save that extra half mile walk from the prearranged meeting spot. Tony was an awesome tour guide. Very very patient, kind, and extremely well educated about his natural environment. I learned so much about the jungle flora and fauna. I've been on coffee and cacao tours before. This was so much more informative with talks by 3 different local botanists/naturalists. I am a design-builder by profession. I learned a lot about bambo construction and how to naturally prevent termites from being attracted to wood. Ate coca tree leaves that cocaine is made from. We were introduced to leaves that can be used for natural mosquito repellent. But I didn't see any mosquitoes on the hike. At 69, im in moderately good shape and found the hiking part just a tiny bit challenging. 4.5 mi up and down moderately steep hills. It's nothing that someone who is active, at any age, can't handle. Minca is a really cute little town. The waterfall is really just a spillover into a man made pond, lovely and very refreshing. The perfect midday break after getting the coffee talk and taste. I highly recommend this tour to anyone with limited time that wants to pack a lot in a day.

Long Walk - Great Day! - We were picked up in a taxi at our Airbnb which was fantastic. We drove to Minca and were immediately greeted by our guide Tony. We met up with the rest of the group and got a brief intro to the day. We then hiked to the coffee farm and waterfall. It is a long walk with a few short breaks to learn about the ecosystem. Everyone enjoyed this. The coffee demonstration was great followed by a much needed swim! We headed back on an even longer walk for lunch and more learning. When we finally got to lunch, the food was incredible. We learned about the animals in Colombia, a bit about the bamboo architecture, and then we learned about cocoa and had lots of samples and we each made our own chocolate bar! Our guide was very passionate and knowledgeable. They spoke both English and Spanish throughout the trip. It was a long day but learned lots, got good exercise, and would recommend.

Good… but could be better - The group was too large. For one guide there was approximately 15 travelers and despite being prompted to select a language at sign up the whole tour was in both Spanish and English so all of the talking sections took twice as long as they needed to. This would have been far better if the group was split into two with dedicated languages. That extra time would have been way better spent at the waterfalls or in the town afterwards. The “hike” was just following a dirt road, which isn’t inherently bad but manage expectations if you’re imagining hiking through the mountains on trails. Aside from those two complaints the tour was quite nice with the cacao being the highlight for me.

Minca village - I think the surrounding area is beautiful to visit. The waterfall etc hiking very chill to do. The village Minca self is a bit less I wished they took care better of the animals (dogs and cats) similar to what I have seen in other places in Columbia like Salento and Guatape. The coffee tour and cacoa tour is simple but fine. I enjoyed the coffee tour in Salento more

Race against time and then the tour was over 1.5 hours early - It started with us having to pay in advance via WhatsApp link. The link you received had expired. So the credit card could not be used and we had to call the bank to clarify this process. That was just under 10€ extra. There was no answer on WhatsApp. But, well. We then decided to pay cash on site. The tour itself was not wrong but I have to say that for this money it was absolutely not worth the trip. We were picked up by a taxi driver and drove about 30 min up into the jungle. Arrived we started to the coffee plantation. Then we went to the falls and finally to dinner and a chocolate demonstration. Unfortunately, every station tried to make money. You didn't really get offered anything for it. Buy here, tip there.I'm not saying anything against the people there or directly against the organizers but it just wasn't authentic and unfortunately it got more and more strenuous over time. The guide always ran ahead and probably didn't have time... Arriving at the food it was not fast enough and it was all very hectic. After the meal, however, the locals and also the guide started to tell us about some things for over an hour. It went on forever and we sat there like we were in school. After the tour came to an end, our guide was just gone and we “were taken to the village by a local to the taxi stand”. So he ran off without saying anything without instructions or anything like that and we couldn't even pack up our things in peace. Thank God we had been able to remember the way. Otherwise we would have been lost. In general, it was incredibly hectic. A couple who were traveling with us wanted to buy souvenirs at the taxi rank. These have also been hectically turned on that we have to go after all. Less than 5 minutes we had to ourselves or the beautiful scenery. No picture and not even creaming was in it. Thus, the tour was finished almost 2 hours before and no one has commented on it. Ah yes and the falls - well . If you sleep on site it is certainly a nice change but going there extra was really unnecessary. And that for almost 80€ per nose.
