200% worth it! - Our tour with Ecosierra was amazing! Our guide, Esneider, told us about its story and the communities. I loved that the agency handles small groups so it feels more personalized. The tour is incredible organized, the camps are very clean and comfortable for jungle conditions. Fran was our designated cook and our food was amazing… we were never hungry. They also con above and beyond to accommodate all allergies and make sure you are well fed.
The hike was hard but doable and we are not very athletic…. You can always go your rhythm and there are plenty of hidration/snack points along the route. I completely recommend this experience, it’s beautiful!

Breathtaking and memorable - Amazing experience. The guide (esneider) was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The cook (fran) was also very friendly and made amazing meals. The camps were well stocked, clean enough and about as good as you can expect in the jungle in the mountains

Amazing experience! - We went to the Lost City with EcoSierra Tour (through Wiwa Walker) , and it was GREAT!!!
I highly recommend going through them to do the 4-day treck for several reasons:
-the guide and interpreter we had (Francisco and Emily) were caring, kind, nice, funny , it was great to have them with us!
- the explanations are very clear and very interesting throughout the 4 days
- we ate very well thanks to our super cook Franck
- they are small groups: we were a group of 4 , the atmosphere was great , and the small group allows to spend quality time with the guide and translator
- the scenery was amazing!!!
- very comfortable camps
In short it was an incredible experience (even if physically difficult) , I highly recommend EcoSierra!!!

The Lost City - The Lost City experience was awesome! Not only was the activity beautiful and extremely well organized with the routes, food, and places to rest and sleep but our guide, Esneider Romero was a wonderful guide.
He gave us a detailed account of the site we were going to visit and also all the historical details and accompanied us with his good humor, his excellent care of our group and also his personal help (like shaking hands when we crossed slippery places or staying on top of us) so that he gave us an exceptional experience.
This was a beautiful and unforgettable experience!
Thank you Esneider.

Trek Lost City - We made the trek of the lost city over 4 days and 3 nights: the toll is incredible! We were m a small group of 4 French, Francisco an incredible native guide, Emily an outstanding translator and Frank our cook! I recommend with my eyes closed, the organization is great, the landscapes sublime and we were able to learn more about indigenous culture!

Lost city 4-day trek - Overall, I enjoyed the trip to the lost city as it was challenging in many ways but was very rewarding. It was interesting being in the area of the indigenous people and the lost city itself was very interesting. The facilities were basic which I expected and the food was good. However, it was certainly not a perfect trip and I feel there are improvements that are needed that I explain below.
Victoria was really great as a translator but I felt she really went above and beyond with her duties to ensure that I was having a good experience as I was the only person in the group that didn't have sufficient Spanish. On many occasions I really felt that she was the guide, not Martin, as she was very knowledgeable and showed great leadership skills throughout the trip.
Our guide Martin generally seemed disinterested and only provided very basic information when we were at camps and at the lost city. I don't remember him ever giving information during the hiking. He did often ask if we had questions but there is a minimum level of information that I would expect to be included. E.g I had to ask how old is the lost city because that basic information was not given. I would expect such fundamental information to be included standard. It felt he was just sharing what was on his mind at the time and not from a set of predetermined information that everyone should receive.
Martin often seemed to be more interested in socializing with people he met along the way which meant he would often stop but tell us to continue hiking meaning he was often behind us. I feel he really lacked leadership skills that I would expect from a guide.
The group dynamics really didn't work too well for this trip. I was a quicker hiker for a lot of the trip and was therefore in front a lot of the time. With martin regularly catching up or staying back I could often hear conversation in Spanish between him and Isabella. I don't know if I may have missed a lot of extra information due to this. Martin never requested to have information translated as we hiked. If I spoke the same language as the rest of the group I would have been more likely to stay closer with the group and martin.
I understand that the group required 2 people to go but in hindsight, I think the company should have contacted me early to make it clear that I would not speak the same language as the guide nor the other member of the group ( she only spoke French and Spanish )
I also feel that there was a lack of information ahead of time to make it clear what you expect. Mainly regarding hygiene and water (don't use tap water for brushing teeth, bring diarrhea medications, soap should always be provided etc.) to ensure travellers don't get sick as this is the worst environment for that to happen but also to allow us to be more prepared for the environment. It was never made clear that the environment would result in most clothing being wet.
It was disappointing that there was an obvious contamination of the food on day 3/4 as the vast majority of the camp including me had stomach issues on the evening of day 3 and many continued into day 4.
I am hoping this feedback will be taken into consideration for improvements that can be made to make this a safe, enjoyable and unforgettable trip for future visitors.
