Great experience on Sal island - This was a really good experience. The tour guides arrived early so we weren't kept waiting. They were really friendly and knew lots of facts about the island. The tour started with the lemon sharks, it was fairly busy but each group went to it's own area of the water to see the sharks - they are well worth having a look at as they swim round you and they really are very cute! We were then taken to the salt lakes. It's really a must do trip as the island is called Sal based on all the salt. The water was really warm and we spent about 30 mins there which was more than enough. Thank you for such a great trip! We would definitely recommend it to others.

Great trip - Your info says €2 for shoe hire when if fact they charge you €3 for the shark guide and the shoes are free which is fine but I may of only had enough cash for salt lake entry of €6 and my shoes €2 with me

Perfect Half Day Trip - Amazing morning 🫶🏻 booked the day before, less than 24h before pickup time, confirmation was fast. We were picked up outside our hotel just after 10am, on the back of a pickup which we thought was fun but just an FYI if you want an air con bus, or make sure you have suncream on! We saw loads of sharks and the guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. There are sellers along the beach with salt from the salinas and magnets of the beach which we got for €3 but the people that said no were respected and left alone, not pushed into buying anything. The Salina was so cool too, we got to float in the lake for as long as we wanted before making our way back up to the bar for a quick drink and back on the truck to make the way home for lunch ☺️ the guide was so friendly and patient and carried all the belongings of the elderly women on our trip for them. I highly recommend this, especially if like us you’re keen to do the morning/half day and be back in the hotel for afternoon. Also this was cheaper than what TUI were offering. 10/10 ❤️

Excellent experience, definitely recommend - Ola from Spot Travel was our guide for the day for this excursion and he was excellent. We would highly recommend contacting him to arrange an excursion in Sal. We were collected from our Hotel promptly and dropped back there at the end of the trip. He was very friendly, informative and we did not feel rushed when exploring. A great morning in Sal.

Brilliant trip and tour guide - Brilliant trip out and enjoyed by all 6 of us . Ola was our guide and he was great (friendly, informative and arrived to pick us up on time .) We enjoyed seeing the sharks and saw more than we expected. Also floating in the salt lake is a great experience. We would happily book with this tour company again .

Brilliant tour, even if not precisely as billed - This was a unique experience that we were glad to have done during our visit to Sal. We were collected on time from our hotel. The vehicle was a minibus - not air conditioned as billed, and no seatbelts. This wasn't a problem for us - open windows did the job - but if this isn't a level of safety and comfort you're on board with, this may not be the trip for you. There was another family group of five besides us, one driver and one tour guide, who were both very friendly and helpful. The journey to Shark Bay took about 45min, during which time, our guide pointed out various landmarks and natural features of the landscape and answered lots of our questions about Cape Verde. The last part of the journey was across a track rather than tarmacked road, but it's seemed to be a well-travelled route, taken by the major tour providers. At Shark Bay, we pulled up beside one of several stalls where shark tour guides operate. The fee for this part was EUR 3 per person (not 2, as advertised). This includes use of the provided Crocs for wading into the sea, but the fee still applies even if you use your own shoes, as our children did. Given the importance of the tourist industry for this part of Cape Verde, it seemed a reasonable price to pay (and after we'd seen the sharks, I'd have readily paid a lot more for this part of the experience). Seeing the sharks was amazing. We waded out with our shark tour guide, who then wafted some bait in the water to attract the juvenile lemon sharks. They swam right by us, occasionally brushing a leg as they passed. The guide seemed knowledgeable and it felt safe - but exhilarating! Worth noting that our small group of 9 had one guide to ourselves so we were able to get close to the guide and therefore to the sharks. Other tour groups there at the same time had one guide to 15 or 20 people so they were further away from the action. When we returned to the beach, we changed back into our own shoes. The crocs were washed in soapy water ready for the next group. There were a few people selling souvenirs - at what sounded like reasonable prices - but these weren't pushy. There were also a couple of small stalls with drink/food, but we didn't stop for these. Next, we went on a shorter drive - perhaps 20min? - to Pedra de Lume. Here, we paid EUR6 per person (except for our youngest, who was short enough to go in free). Worth noting, payment here and at the lemon sharks has to be in cash. We then walked through a short tunnel and emerged inside the large crater of the extinct volcano. It's quite a striking piece of scenery inside. There's a short walk downhill and then you can slip off shoes etc to go down into the salt water. It really is noticeable, the way the salt makes you float in the water. Three out of the four of us did experience some stinging from the saltiness of the water. Our guide later said it often happens with younger children - worth being aware of. Part way back up the hill is a stop where you can use the toilet free of charge and pay EUR1 for a 30sec burst of a shower, which I'd recommend. There's also a snack bar there. After our time in the salt pool, we headed back to the minibus and we're driven back to our hotels. We wore beachwear the whole trip and didn't get changed, just took a towel to dry off a bit. There were lots of other tour groups doing the same activities as us. I'd recommend this particular tour for the small group size and the personalised service. The guide and our driver really did take care of us and we're attentive to our needs and questions. The two activities were very special, as was the drive itself for seeing a little more of the island.
